Illinois Railroad Oregon Branch(WIP)

Unread postby NS9030 » Sat Apr 06, 2013 8:43 pm

Decided to put the NSFD on hold for awhile and started on a small branch line in Illinois. Serves 2 customers, one in Oregon, IL and the other in Mt. Morris, IL. Very scenic area as well. Lots of trees, fields, and hills. The branch runs from Oregon, IL to Mt. Morris where the tracks are cut. Hoppers on tank cars are all that are switched here. Trains do run daily.

Sounds like a fun route. If I can help out in any way, let me know.

I would say that it's best to not hurry through it, we'll enjoy the route whenever you finish it and release it, but you have all the time in the world.

Would love to see the full of the Illinois Railroad extending out past Oregon.

We'll be able to run a steam engine and experience the area like Casey Jones did in 1889-1900.

Maybe in the future, track is 100% laid, all I need to do now is scenery which is 20% done. It sucks we don't have corn plants yet, every field is full of them(much like Ohio). Most of the crossing gates appear to be from around the 1980's from when BN had the line so BN can be operated on this route as well.

C&O Allegheny. Closest thing I can remember. Ask Mike D? Maybe he can whip you up something.

Mike is got them on his list since I cant find the corn from SAD, I checked all SAD's boxes. Scenery in Mount Morris is going in, really has the Illinois feel with the hills.

Track is 100%, scenery is 90%, still adding ground textures and small details. Looking good if I might say so :)
