I finally figured out how to paint Railworks objects, so I started on the Florida East Coast SD70M-2. Its currently a WIP.

Very nice! Something what we need on Scline.

I just can't seem to get the knack of changing colors. It looks so easy on the tutorials, but never works well for me. Anyone have a suggestion for a good color change tutorial. I use paint shop pro.

This is the one I use. My best reccomendation would be Photoshop, I've had no luck with GIMP or Paint.net. No experience with PSP. I've done the paint for this in Photoshop.

I can do everything displayed in this video. What I cannot do is change the base color of a loco or car. For example, if I want to create a KCS grey loco from the default black SD40-2. I can't get the sides changed to the grey color without losing all the original detail.

In photoshop, use the rectangular marquee tool to select the rectangular area, such as a hood door, then only apply paint in that. Then skip a pixel (leave it the original color) and paint the next door the same way. As long as you isolate each element the detail will stay.

Is there any other way to get RSBinTool 0.9 without having to go through UKTrainSim? !**conf**!

Sadly, no, but its worth the wait. The RWTools DDS converter is pretty lousy if you ask me.

Also, one last shot before I go to bed.

Wow. I didn't even know this railroad existed until i saw this thread. I looked it up and I like it's new yellow and grey colors better then it's old ones.

Hope you do well in making this, !!howdy!!

The old colors were the RailAmerica Scheme but the FEC is no longer part of RA or G&W.
