nope! Marc is also working on a new cajon pass version so that makes four people! *!!wink!!* So you see NVergilio that it makes no sense for you to continue on your project. Please don't be mad at me because I say this but it would make more sense if you would check out this thread and then decide what you would like to build: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=7282 !*salute*!

I agree with mdurdan. Why spend time building the same route three other people are already working on individually? If you're set on California, I would love to see the SP Coast Route...But that's just me.

no... if someone wants to build something let them.

How many versions of the 'Bay of Quinte' are out there? And I know of several 'Castle Rock' revisions over the few years I have had Railworks. While I agree we need more diversity in our routes, there is no reason to quash one's desire to create something.

Now get back into the cab. You have a high ball.

I am making the CC, but more than likely it will take me years to finish it. If someone else decides to make it then they will likely be done before me *!lol!*

And more than likely my route would differ greatly from any other version because I am setting it in a specific time, and adding parts which I feel pertinent and fun.

Go for it. !!*ok*!!

I should note that the ES44DC does currently exist for RW but is currently not available off of steam yet, its still undergoing its TS2013 enhancement. It is included in the CN pack which gives you a CN ES44DC and a CN SD40-2

Huh?

He probably got a network ribbon error.

NVergilio, not that having different track rules crashes the game it will lead to other problems. To start out adding track to an existing route, I would first clone the route, then use the same track type and same track rules. If it still crashes then there is a deeper problem.

Oh it's not just you! I love the California coastal route. *!greengrin!*

I live 10 miles inland from this route in a town called Lompoc (pronounced lom-poke, not lom-pock). There is a spur inland to our town to service a diatomaceous earth mine. There used to be 2 mines and factories back in the 1970s. There was a SW1500 usually assigned here at the yard (a GP9 once in awhile) with a permanent local Southern Pacific crew. In the award winning movie "Sideways" (the wine drinking road trip movie), you can see the yard when they cross the railroad tracks on the way back to retrieve his wallet from the house of the married woman he slept with. Now one factory and mine is closed and the larger one seems to just scrape by. The yard has been stripped down to a couple tracks now (not really a yard anymore) and hasn't had a engine assigned to it in at least 10 maybe 15 years. It comes in south from Guadalupe once a week to grab cars.

The coastal route is very scenic and only Union Pacific and Amtrak use it. It only has a mere fraction of the freight trains running now then when SP ran on it. You can sometimes go a couple days without a single freight. Just depends. It's the least busiest main line freight I know. It's in top shape and the track well maintained..... it's just that it sees more Amtrak and Surfliner service then frieght...sadly. *!sad!*

I'm a member of the coastal route club on Yahoo groups whose members do tweet-like emails that get broadcast to all it''s other members. I get detailed emails from it's members out in the field telling me what's coming down the line.... which basically means from their phone to mine instantly. I doubt this route will ever be done in Railworks. It was done as a freeware MSTS route called 'Surfliner 2".

As for many people working on the same routes? Go for it! May the best route win our praise! I'm surprised that Tehachapi Pass hasn't been done in Railworks up to now. It's already been done in MSTS, Trainz and Run 8. It's about time RW gets it!!

Bring on the Needles and Yuma subs too! I'm down with it! !!*ok*!!
EMD 2-strokes rule! My all time favorite: SD45X also love the SD40-2/SD40T-2/SD45-2/SD45T-2/DD35A/DDA40X/SD70ACe/SD80ACe
