WIP Baywindow caboose and BLE quad hopper

Here are some test shots of a baywindow caboose and and BLE 100t quad hopper for use on the Union railroad route I'm working on. These are both made in Blender and Gimp. Also in progress a RB20B loco, a hot slab car and a 89' flat. And yes, I know there's no glass yet. Still working on that part.

Thanks for looking and please feel free to critique my work, gently, since these are the first ones I've made. If you want stats or anything let me know.

I like the quad hopper, it will definitely fit well on my CN coal trains on my route.

The BLE quad hopper looks good. Could this be a precurser to a possible B&LE route? LOL! wishful thinking. !!*ok*!!

Thanks everyone. Got glass in the windows today. Zug Guy's Art of Railworks to Blender translations are great. The caboose will get an interior, the quad hopper is a Bessemer type with no end bulkhead, but there is another one on the way that will have a short bulkhead, like for Mopac and UP and NS and a bunch of other roads. The RB20B is a typo, should be a RP20B, from R.J. Corman Railpower or NS 100 and 101. Sorry, not planning to do a B&LE route. *!embar*!

So, stuff in the pipeline...48' container chassis, 36" bogey as a static object, static caboose truck, possibly a transfer caboose...we'll see.
Thanks, Daniel

Had a look at the NS 100 and I have to say that it's a very interesting looking locomotive, will be nice to see one in the sim.

Also will love when the caboose is finished and has a 3d cab, what the sim really needs anyways is a great freeware bay window caboose that isn't a repaint.

Also, not everyone is a born route builder.

I've been building all kinds of assets from the 30's ranging from city buildings, houses, cars and trucks, biplanes and other items and yet I can't stand route building.

So as of right now I have no idea if I'll even ever finish my NYC District 1935 route. Before I even try though I want to also be able to make some 30's steam locomotives and rolling stock to go with it.

Here's a shot in Blender of the high detail model and a photo of the RJ Corman RP20B testing on the Union Railroad with hot metal slabs in tow. This unit outperformed a NRE unit of similar design, but as yet the Union has not adopted them to replace the aging MP15 fleet. One can only hope... The radiator section in the back has different grille patterns between the RJCX 5400 and the NS 100-101.

So, if the caboose and or hopper were to be beta tested, how would I go about getting them to that stage? I would assume I need to pack them using the Package manager, right? And then what? Could I upload them to the files section or are we looking at emailing them?

The pciture on the bottom looks is a location around Pittsburgh the Union Railroad with the slab train behind it. I know at one point the Union railroad was trying out new power to see if viable to replace their aging fleet of MP15DC and SW1500's.
I went back and edited my post. That location is just west of the Union Railroad shops going torwards the Edgar Thompson works on the Monongahela river. Monroeville Pa. The bridge in the back ground is the Park Way east.

JP,
I agree. If I was capable of building routes I would have worked on a Union Railroad and Bessemer and Lake Erie routes, Maybe to include the Western Allegheny.

Its very interesting to look back at "OLD" threads and see all the ambitions that never happened. I'm coming to the conclusion that they are 3/4 of the threads in these forums.
To the creators that have made excellent and outstanding assets in RW, Thanks !!*ok*!!
BTW, if you don't see them, they have not been done.

I would also like to see these finished.

And I would love to beta test for you Daniel. I am in need of something different.

I am also still enjoying the AUTO-MAX Auto-racks.

*!!thnx!!* !!*ok*!!

Yes it is interesting. When one is laid off and has LOTS of free time, you can develop all kinds of grand plans. But when it's back to work and then having a baby on top of that...well you just run out of time. I'd like to get back into the sim, so can anyone tell me if the assests and rolling stock for TS2013 works in TS2014, the Blender exporter, and such? There is so much I've learned about rolling stock creation and now have forgotten... !!jabber!!
