Hey folks,

I'm officially announcing the Canadian Pacific Watertown Subdivision. This route was featured in the "SE Wisconsin" thread, however, I've neglected the thread and the route as of late.

Now, with renewed interest, and energy, I'll use a new thread to show my progress. Though the old thread is here: http://railworksamerica.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=4061

Here is a quick intro to the line:
The route will run from the Milwaukee Airport Amtrak Station, to Portage Wisconsin, a distance of around 100 miles. From east to west, the line starts on the C&M Subdivision and heads through Milwaukee (including Milwaukee's Amtrak station and the large Muskego Yard), onto the Watertown Subdivision, which is a combination of double and single track railroading, onto the small yard in Portage. The line will end at the siding at Lewiston on the Tomah Subdivision. The line passes through all sorts of scenery, from urban Milwaukee, to the beautiful Kettle Moraine and Lake Country, to rural central Wisconsin.

There are all sorts of opportunities on the line, mainline freight, switching (both mainline local as well as the Port of Milwaukee), and Amtrak (Trains 7 & 8, the Empire Builder).

The route currently does not require any payware, unless you started your RW career with TS2013, then it requires the base asset pack or whatever. Though who knows what will be going on by the time I finish this. (Trackage is about 35% done, and scenery is about 5% done)
Here's a map:

Here are some shots from RW as well as real life. Obviously camera angles are a bit different, but the idea is the same.

Unfortunately on hold till I can get a better system, this old laptop has just about had it! Hopefully I'll be able to pump out the Aspinwall Route before it croaks though...

Well I opened this route up after a month or two of solid work on my Aspinwall Route, and I gotta say, I've really missed this thing! My decals are all messed up, but I'm too attached to my "home rails" to leave it alone any longer. Will slowly resume work, spent a few hours this morning fixing rough curves and gradients, and can't wait to get back to placing scenery!

So I'm thinking I'll more than likely end up releasing this in segments. First up is Milwaukee to Nashotah, where I've got the most track work done, a distance of about 20 miles. My C drive is practically full of RW stuff and I can only do small sections of decals at a time, so chunking it out like this is really my only option. This section of the line is by far the most action packed though, with Muskego Yard, The Port of Milwaukee, the WSOR North Milwaukee Branch (including Miller Brewing) and the CN connection at Duplainville. Have been toying around with scenarios and have the first one thought up. You'll take two IC SD40-3s off of CN's Duplainville Siding, down the CP on Main 2 and into Muskego Yard to pick up 70 Coke Loads, and then return to the CN on Main 1. I tested this as a free roam and it took me just over an hour.

That all being said, I'm looking for people to help make Milwaukee look like Milwaukee. Is anyone interested in modeling landmarks like Miller Brewing, the US Bank Building, Miller Park, etc...? Any help is appreciated!

Looking east at the west end of Muskego Yard, tracks to the left are known as "Cut-Off" and through freights/Amtrak use them to run past the yard, and to the Amtrak Depot.

Looking East at the leads and runner tracks into Muskego Yard. Crossing the Menomonee River ....again.... (You'll cross it 5-6 times depending on routing)

The view looking northwest from Miller Compressing.

Looking East where the ladder opens up, running tracks are on the top.

Looking West on the whole west end complex. Signaling is complete between Muskego Yard and Pewaukee.

Looking good. I lived for 10+ years right near the KK river swing bridge. That's where the wash#4 track out of the yard hits the two main lines. I must confess I haven't seen much of the route west beyond Duplainville. Those parts I can't comment on, but I'll be able to tell fairly well how accurate everything east of it is..... including the lake hill near the airport.

What percent done are you? *!question!*
