CP Mountain Sub and Laggan Sub

This is my second attempt at this route and i've learn't tons since my first effort.
So far i've got a lot of the DEM in place and my first batch of decals. I've layed approx 15 miles of track heading east out of Field with some sidings in place and of course a couple of famous tunnels.
Here's some pics of what i've done so far with 3 ES44s and 100 double stacks test train.

I got my DEM from the USGS website. It is only 1arc sec data though but that doesn't matter to much when i'm in the mountains. I did a quick search for your route and there is DEM available on the site.
You just need to scroll up to Canada and litrally hunt it out as the map gives you no real clues to what your looking at. Again it's only 1arc sec but it would at least be something to work with !!*ok*!!

Thanks for the comments *!greengrin!*
If i ever manage to stop myself just dragging big trains round the loops i'll get on with some scenery and building.

Cheers

Don't they have DEM at www.geobase.ca ?

yes but you need a converter program that cost $50 to get it into the correct file that ReDem uses

Hey thebigroyboyski ! You gotta stop running them trains round those loops man, we cannot have any more of that. Get back to building the route.... The community needs that route!

No more playing around. ! Now, get to it. ... *!!wink!!*

Ok i'll get some more done tonight !!*ok*!!

@thecanadianrail, i tried the DEM from geobase first. I'm pretty sure i converted it to .bil using a free programme called microdem. The only reason i didn't use it was that i'd have to stitch a lot of the dem together instead of grabbing it in a big chunk from USGS. Hope that helps.

This is looking good, would love to see a version of it based in the 30's and 40's.

Thanks for posting. Nice to see some well known "places" rendered in TS2013.

After having a brake from the route for a while i've added about 20 odd more miles of track and i'm currently just outside of Golden in the canyon.
I've decided that i'm going to try and use the RCAP models only on this route to try and keep the required add ons to a bare minimum and keep the route free of RSC updates.
Since my last pics i've changed the base textures to use the uktrainsim ones so the ground colours are all a bit mixed up till i have a fiddle with the files.
