What is the main difference?
Do you intend to model a contemporary, rationalized yard layout?

It will not be just the yard. It will go up to Bakersfield and to answer your question: It's based on latest satellite images of the whole route and updated to 2012

Thanks for clearing that up.
Do you know about the history of this yard? Were there ever steam engine facilities and where?
If we ever get more mainline ATSF and UP steam power we might need a steam era route too.
I suppose it is easier to remove tracks and facilities than adding them, so a 40's/50's route and yard are considerably more work.
Anyway, I am looking forward to your route for RSC's is getting a bit dated, SP1 or not.

I'd love if someone did a 1940's era route. I need a route like that for my Consolidation

I've made some vehicles from the 30's for the game and they're available, a route set in the 30's would also work well with the Consolidation, even if it's a fiction route.

Michael Stephan (GreatNortherner) is working on a New Haven route set in early transition, with steam facilities, dual roundhouses and turntables etc (there are some WIP pics in this forum) which I am looking forward to trundling along in your Consolidation. Looking forward to teh release of both

Why competition? I'm pretty sure that your route will be freeware, so why you think we're in a competition. My one will be payware and that's exactly why I have not posted this in your thread
