If this has anything to do with my Challenger repaint and overhaul, This is a much needed performance upgrade. I tried a 40 car small cement train with the Challenger and had to get the diesel supplied in Monument to leave the yard! The 3985 would've been able to handle that train no problem, and yes, the cars were loaded!

UP3985, would you be happy with a 25-30 car limit on a 1.5% grade?

I don't care really, I was just stating that it was annoying that a 35 car cement hopper consist (the default 2 bay ones) couldn't make it up the hill out of Monument without me having to back into the yard and hook up to the SD40-2 in the yard!

That sounds fine to me. If you really want to see what the real beast can do, check out this link

143 cars, no helpers, just steam. This is on an uphill grade, and at 4oish MPH. I would like to be able to recreate this scene in the game whenever Sherman Hill comes out! !*salute*!

Yea I have seen that before. I don't think the games physics would let me. Maybe Normal and a SuperDuty Challenger, I see what I can do.

really the BIGEST problem imo with steamers on RW is the steam generation rate vs. the usage rate, if we could balance those out to a more realistic level the rest should be accurate.....well to a point

Yes but thats downhill, up hill it probably goes 15 mph with that many cars knowing Railworks physics *!lol!*

Almost forgot there's a video to go with it in the video section.

Just for fun...
Take bpetit's Big boy upgrade. Copy the BB_Simulation.bin from the IHH\Big Boy\RailVehicles\Steam\BigBoy\Default\Simulation folder and copy/paste that into the IHH\US Railroads\RailVehicles\Steam\Challenger\Default\Simulation folder. Backup the Challenger Simulation.bin and rename the BB_Simulation.bin to Challenger Simulation.bin.
It does make it interesting. *!lol!*
If that's not enough. Copy all the files from the Bog Boy Simulation folder and paste them into the Challenger Simulation folder and rename accordingly. *!!wink!!*

As always. Back stuff up!!

Hmm..never thought of that but.... one thing it will not change.....the Boiler Level (Thunder crash). It will drop the same way...maybe even worst. *ahem. did you try that? !**duh*!!

Well, I have been sidetracked.(*cough* Skyrim *cough*). Actually its pretty much done, still need to tweak it a bit more so it doesn't take off like a rocket.
