I feel like I'm taking a backseat now given this weeks earlier announcement.

Here it is though, I've been working for about a month laying the trackwork for the BNSF Chicago Subdivision running 40 miles from Chicago's Union Station to Aurora.

My screens aren't as pretty as Sith's (I've been focusing on trackwork only) but here are a few shots.

The trackwork is accurate to location, grade, degree of curve & speed. Mileposts & speedlimits posted. All curves along the mainline use easements - which should make this route RW3 compatible. As of this morning I am working on the track just south of Union Station (but everyone has seen pretty shots of that in another thread *!!wink!!* )

Once the trackwork is done I'll move on to signalling & scenery. From there, depending on how this goes, I'd like to extend the lines and model other Subs within the Chicago Division.

I recognize the area. I did work (truck lettering) in the APL and UPS container yard a few years ago.
Really hope this is completed. looks like alot of work and effort.
Keep up the fantastic job. !!*ok*!!

Excellent work! Curious did you use REDEM for your terrain? I tried using it, but its just a flat surface regardless. So I excluded it.

Yes, I did. You'd be surprised how much elevation difference there is on the flat surface of the plains *!lol!*

For the portion of the line in Kane County 1/9 arc is available which is really nice -the Right-of-Way for the Railroad is visible right on the terrain.

Thanks all for the support!

Can't wait to try it, if you plan for it to be freeware you can use mine and other freeware developers scenery buildings. And I'll even take requests for buildings if it's up my alley.
