The Locomotive that revolutionized American Railroading

The EMD FT was the locomotive that changed everything forever. I'm tired of waiting for the other headlight configurations to be done so I'm going to do a series of these for the sim. If and when anyone does the mods it should not be too much of a big deal to go back and get these prototypical.
If anyone has any roads you would like to see just give me a holler and I'll start a list. First up is going to be the two paint jobs WP used on this first gen hood.

Feel obligated to throw in the Boston and Maine FTA and B units (photo courtesy of the Boston & Maine Railroad Historical Society). First batch of these began the death knell for steam in New England.

Hmm, may have to settle for model photos!

They had two similar paint jobs, both using the Minuteman scheme as a base. The first had Boston and Maine printed onto a pair of Red Wings (the B&M and CP operated a passenger train called "The Red Wing", where I suspect this may have come from).

There was also the more classic plain Minuteman scheme that the B&M would use on their other F and E units, along with some GPs and Alcos.

Here's my vote. I know there is already a version in the file library using BritKit's FT from back in 2012, but would still be interested in a "newer version" even though the headlights and number boards are wrong.

Looks good Buzz. I've always liked that orange and silver paint scheme on the F's, regardless of model. I also found a shot of WP "pumpkin" FT's. Didn't realize those units got painted in the solid orange scheme. I thought that scheme came after the FT's.

Wow. Never knew about that one. I guess I'll have to add it to my WP group as soon as I finish this one.

There's also another 2 paints WP had besides those three: the earlier Zephyr paint (characterized on the FT by the small roadname on the A unit, plow striping, no lettering on the B unit, and a large feather river herald on only the engineers side of the B unit), and a single set painted in an experimental metallic scheme shortly after WWII.
Here's a photo of the early Zephyr scheme.

No photos of the experimental paint exist online; I've seen a photo of it in a book, its an ugly thing, and it only lasted about a year before the metallic paint chipped off.

The "Pumpkin" paint the FTs wore was actually developed before the Zephyr livery, it was applied on a couple units in 1948, with both the Zephyr train and paint scheme debuting in 1949. It was cheaper, so when the profit margin got low in the late 60s WP turned back to it before settling on Pearlman green.

As soon as I figure out the goofy mapping on the nose for the top stripes this thing will be pretty much done.
