Milwaukee Electric

I'm just playing around and decided to try repainting the PRR GG1 in Milwaukee Road colors. I've included a picture of the "Little Joe" paint scheme that sort of inspired my version. I think I'll try this again, maybe with a different model, but I like it overall. Let me know what you think.

If anyone wants to volunteer to put actual decals on then be my guest because I only just learned how to take decals off and that was a stroke of luck.

So some things that need improvement are obviously the lettering on the side. I'm still trying to line the A up, but I just have to mess with it. I don't know what that black bar thingy is on the one cab door but at this point I really don't care if I never find it, haha. The logos are trashy because theyre so small and detailed and fine details are no good on the actual skin, but better as decals. Like I said, if someone wants to take a crack at decals, then I'd be more than happy to work on it with someone, but this probably won't go to the file library unless people really want this specific one. It's still very much a WIP. I'll try a few different methods, one I'm thinking of is using the silver GG1 reskin as a base because of the high contrast between colors and other stuffffffffff. The main challenge with this specific loco is the way the texture wraps and how it's been broken up, the stripes aren't continuous, so doing a "block" style reskin on the GG1 could be more challenging than I'm willing to tackle right now.

I just know that for me personally, I've been on a Milwaukee Road "bender" and have been researching a bit here and there into their history and I find it fascinating, and I also just want to practice my repainting skills. Let me know what y'all think!

I'm also thinking of doing a "What if" series of Milwaukee locos, like maybe the p003H and the 4449.

The scheme you painted is the Chicago, South Shore, and South Bend Railroad. Who also had Little Joes.

Well then, I guess it's a good thing I didn't make this with accuracy or "being prototypical" in mind.

Anyways, here's the final updates on my big mistake:

At the end of the day I had fun making this, and as simple (and as incorrect) as it was, I think I learned a lot about repainting. I'm just happy I got the A to line up!

I try to enjoy using my imagination in creating things I find fun or interesting because it seems silly to ask someone who prides themselves on their prototypical work to try and use their time and talents to create something that never really existed in the first place.

That being said, I've decided that I won't upload this reskin to the file library. I'm still very new to repainting and new to this community. It would seem that I am not as ready as I thought I was to share anything just yet.

That sir or ma'am, I feel is the most important part too. After all this is a game.

Well, when your ready I know I'll be ready to hit the 'download' button and hit the 5 Star rating button too. *!greengrin!*
I think your first crack at repainting was a home run! I can't wait to see what your imagination churns up next.

In the mean time, take care and have fun!
!*cheers*!
