Unread postby ET44C4 » Sat Aug 12, 2017 3:41 pm

I'm working on doing some weathered versions of the Donner Pass Southern Pacific locomotives. The first one I finished is the SD40-2. !!*ok*!!

Looking good! These fit in well with the last years of SP, when washing the locos was a last resort!

If you can, perhaps darken/dirty the wheels and flanges too?

Thank you very much! Thank you for the link as well, as I will certainly use it as a reference. I will also look into darkening the wheels and flanges. !!*ok*!!

Thinking about doing a speed lettered SD40(T)-2? I don't think anyone has made one yet so if you want to, shoot for the stars and make a weathered one.

I will have to look, as I think they have already been made. If not, you would like the speed letting on both the SD40-2 and SD40T-2, right?

Thank you! However, I think the sill stripes only came with speedlettering.
Please have a look at:

Ah, I see. I will fix that. Thank you for letting me know. !!*ok*!!

I guess the speed lettering has not been done. Can anyone confirm that before I spend time working on them?

I think an SP speedlettered SD40T-2 is in:

Okay, let me just do a speed lettering for both SD40-2 and SD40T-2 locomotives. That way you all will get weathered versions as well. !!*ok*!!

I was working on this before the speed lettering came up, so I decided to finish it. Here is the weathered SW1500 with a special treat! !!*ok*!!

Alright here is an update on the SD40-2 repaints! So, I added the speed lettering livery with un-weathered and weathered versions. I fixed the sill stripe on the default weathered repaint and I am currently working on the wheels for all SD40-2 repaints.
