So poking around in the route I found a folder called TexComm which has a bunch of generic signs for the route which of course has no brand names on there due to the paranoia real or imagined by the DTG crew I imagine soooo.....I need a couple of people who bought the route from Steam to beta a little addon with some real signs with real brand names on them to see if they work OK.

So, I have a theory that this so-called "Buzz" character is actually several people.
How else could one man create such varied, creative, and well made works of art in such short periods of time, over such a long period?
That, or its aliens...

I think that's nonsense. Coke has way more important things on their minds. It's just a excess of caution on the part of DTG.

Coke probably does have more important things to do, but how about their lawyers? Or maybe not even their (own) lawyers, but some other lawyers that may have been contracted or allowed to pursue potential copyright infringements around the globe on their own accord, paying [insert big biz company name here] some of their, uhm, "earnings" in the end? A bit like the way that some (?) phone companies do it, selling off old minor unpaid bills to law firms who then claim the money on their behalf, usually adding their own hefty fees and whatnot to it. The bills alone are probably too small for the big phone company to pursue, but by handing them over to some 'freelancing' lawyers who can then add their own fees, it's a win-win for both parties.

TLDR: Big business is totally out of control, everywhere on the world. I totally understand DTG's caution with this.

EDIT: Seems I got a little off topic just now... trying to get back on topic... THANK YOU for the signs update for the SN route! This is a much appreciated little extra that adds to the great old-time atmosphere of the route.

While we are totally off topic let's include governments who allow lawyers to "game the system' to suck the blood from our society.

Okay, due to public demand, I'll repeat a previous suggestion for getting around all of this fear of lawsuits: simply invent similar brand names (or road names, such as BSSF), use different symbols. colors, etc. Or, come to think of it, use brands that no longer exist. And don't forget to mention in each user's manual an "any resemblance" clause.

Wait, wait, tell me: why all the fuss in the first place?

And a final piece of advice to those fretful companies: fire your lawyers, accept the free advertising, and save lots of money and angst.
