Hello Folks!
Hope your all enjoying the holiday season.
Can't say I'm a fan of this locomotive...or the company for that matter, but here it is.
I miss the BN E9's that shook the earth and gave the EPA an aneurysm every time they throttled up! Those were the days.

Hoping I can plug away at this and maybe have it done before the family starts eating all my food in a couple days, time will tell. :D

Awesome start! !!*ok*!! I hope you find a way to get past the side doors, I took a look at the mapping and DTG decided use one texture for both...

Hello Folks!

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! I hope Santa brought you everything you wanted. Turns out your right 'PotatoLocal', it shares a door texture. **!!bang!!**
I wished I had bothered to notice that before now. I appreciate you mentioning this before I sunk anymore time into it.
I have to wonder sometimes what these guys are thinking. They'll have shared textures on relatively important pieces such as these doors, but then turn around and individually texture every 480V Jumper, Anglecock, or air pipe. !*don-know!*
Ah,well. It was fun while it lasted. I was really looking forward to weathering this thing, and maybe doing the Oliver Tibbles one as well.

Again, thanks for the knowledge and Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!

-Jerry

P.S. Just to test what you said I put an 'X' on the doors. Sure enough you were right. Re-painters beware!

I have been working on repainting the GP38 from Peninsula Corridor and ran into the same issue, except instead of 4 doors there are 17 that run down the sides. As long as you are not needing a logo to go where the doors are like I am, you will be fine. It shouldn't be too hard to line your colors up so that when it maps to doors it will all line up.

So why don't you try yourself? Learn how like all the other painters. Then you won't have to ask questions like the above one.

The two doors on other repaints are the same color, and they share textures. On this they need to have different things, so the shared textures wouldn't work. Please read the rest of the posts above next time, as they probably have your answer.

This can be solved by just smacking a decal on it

Just smack a decal on one of the doors and it should be fixed

I have permission from another user to use a decal for this. I have contacted Gerunimo625 to see if he still has the original project files he started. If so, I can do the decal that is needed for the side panels, and we can release this a collaborated project. Otherwise, I will have to start this project from scratch. Since I am preparing to move and will be reduced to a laptop for 3 months, it would take some time to complete.
