The Green Hornet!

Howdy Folks!

Hope your all enjoying your weekend! I've been screwing around with this PCC Streetcar from Mr. Scott. Been trying to get my trolley fix in while I wait for the Sacramento Northern from Gtrax to be released. So to occupy my time I drummed up this CTA PCC Streetcar. I know the paint scheme isn't accurate, but its about as good a job I am willing to do considering the model seems to have been purpose built for the Toronto (TTC) skin. I have yet to repaint the cab, but they all have numbers (not accurate) and head boards, (presumably accurate, based from museum photos). I also moved one of the passenger views to the back of the car so you can "back poll"/reverse now and have some visibility while doing so. I might consider doing one more repaint of this before I release it, I am open to suggestions.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

-Jerry

Cool! !*brav*!

Fun Fact: CTA's PCC cars were amongst the largest ever built (measuring 50' long by 9' wide compared to the standard dimensions of 46'5" long by 8'4" wide). They were so large, they were slightly offset on the trucks to the curb side to reduce the chance side-swiping when passing. Chicago also had the largest new fleet of PCC's at 683. Most were recycled into L cars by 1958. One survives intact at the Illinois Railway Museum.

Those are beauties & especially the interiors.

I fondly remember riding green and orange line PCCs on the T right before they were replaced.

Right :-)

Like a second home to us. I was on Foster St near BC. Hung out at the MDC rink at Cleveland Cir. in the 60s. The Bobby Orr years! I seem to remember these toplight cars on Cleveland Circle/Beacon St and Arborway.

Best,

Excellend work!!!
Speaking of PCC cars, wouldn't it be nice if a double ended car like the ones used in Dallas or Muni's Big Tens was created for the sim? It could be well used for lines with no turning loops.
Some Muni's cars shown here:

Howdy Folks!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

These have been collecting dust in my RWTools TempDDS folder for sometime and I finally decided to finish them.
Ignore the destination boards and the caddywhompus lines, they will be changed/fixed.

I'll also get the CTA ones packed up shortly and sent out.

Have a good week!

Boy, is that nice. I'm a native Bostonian and have spent 1000s of hours on those PCCs. It's like 1964 all over again.

Best,

Howdy Buzz,

They were uploaded the same day as all the other Interurbans, back in March. Mr. Artim is slaving away at the grind stone, or should I say grave stone *!greengrin!*
He said he'll upload them when he can.

Sorry about the wait, I hope you enjoy them.
