Tell me which side looks more prototypical

I don't understand what you're trying to ask. The ones delivered to the BN had roadnumbers on the long hood, while postmerger delivered MACs had "BNSF" on the long hood. None had blank hoods.

IMHO bottom picture is better. Are you familiar with the re-color feature in paint.net?

I think the lower picture.
They were a shade of green and "cream" and the lower pic looks more like cream to me.
Somebody will pipe up that's actually seen them.
Something I've learned recently, is it's hard to get colors correct without a IPS monitor.
If you do skins on a TN panel, then sometimes strange shadings etc can show up when on a IPS or TV screen that reproduces more color range.

Well I've seen them. And I'm using the paint off it for this one
