(W.I.P) ALCo RS-3

Hello everybody. Again.

Here is progress on an RS-3 and the slug unit from the other topic.

(W.I.P) ALCo Slug Render #6.jpg

Here's a CNW RS-3 Slug that has a sealed cab that I was thinking of doing.
CNW RS-3 Slug.jpg

The RS-3 progress shot was just done today. What I did was cut out a section of the slug body, raise the height of it and add a basic cab shape. There's still a lot to model and things to move around.

I know that I havn't posted anything in a while, the reason is that I needed a break from modelling. The stress of trying to model the trucks and couplers was starting to get to me. Those are the areas where my modeling skills pretty much end. *!embar*! These units are a huge test of my modelling skills.

So if anybody has advice on modelling AAR Type B trucks and AAR Type E couplers, I could really use it.

If you got this far down in the post, thank you for taking the time read all of this. *!!thnx!!*

Here's another progress shot.
ALCo RS-3 Render #2.jpg

Not much has changed but I'm going to be taking my time with working on this to ensure that it gets finished. The "cab" that can be seen in the picture is just a place holder shape, I'm going to be working on an actual cab very soon.

Good luck with that. A few years ago I looked for Type B blueprints or measurements on the web and was amazed to find nothing.
I don't know if it's a national secret or something. Maybe in printed books.
Several modelers have made these trucks for TS, don't ask me how they did it.

I have several very detailed pictures, sans measurements, if you want that.

I've got a lot of detail shots from a local tourist railway that operates 2 RS-3's from MLW. Here are a few of the trucks.

Quick question. What variant of the RS-3 are you making? Like what RR?

I'm not sure, because the plan I'm using doesn't specify which railroad it's from.
