Special thanks to Smokebox for allowing us to use the frame of UP FEF-3 for this awsome project. You will need it the FEF-3 addon for this to work.

Excellent! I'll be seeing the real thing in June on the Manassas to Front Royal run (up to 3 times!)

You never knew? Sibell was learning from Luk rail for a while now. That's how she knew to add child objects and model that Aussie AC6000CW.
Now since I have been looking around at their FB and messaging them from time to time, I'm hyped for the 611, and have to slowly start taking pictures...

Pretty sweet model but I do see one tiny issue. UP 844 (since its the chassis) has a Walschaerts valve gear while NW 611 has a Baker valve gear. Now the first batch of NW J units did have a Walschaerts valve gear. Just something I picked up on.
Great job modeling it though.

It's still a WIP, however this picture is a month or so old, so that probably isn't what is looks like as of now.

i personally is not too worried about valve gear as long as it has high quality.

But the valve gear is a very noticeable thing, so are the wheels because #611 has roller bearings and different wheels from the #844.
Dude, shut up and make it yourself then.

These debates are really starting to make me crazy. This IS a compromise locomotive. The fact that the author of the 844 allowed the running gear to be used as a basis for this model was generous. EVERYTHING is wrong about it but the wheel arrangement. But it will be a good stand-in,until the time someone does a Class J,from scratch. I have not purchased the UP 844,but will do so,in order to have the "J",when it is released. SO,to be clear,I am looking forward to the release of the 611,but I would like to see more respect given to content creators.

Sibell is making this so it will be a good locomotive.

And Luk Rail. They've been working together on many freeware projects. Apologies for anything that went wrong.
