I would say RS.co because they model for a living, and I just have spare time. But I have the whole external model (very nearly) done already. I'm limited to waiting for a new Blender exporter too.

PS If anyone has easy access to SD70Ms could you get some photos of specific areas for me? Contact me by PM if you can.

you are still at the point where you could make the SD70Mac into a SD70i. all you need to do is add the isolation to the cab.

CN owns a lot of them, and i think NS and BN has some but i am not shure. i think this is the way to go so the northamerican locomotive roster gets larger.

i just checked and CN,CSX, and The Alaska Railway owned some SD70I's

Only CSX, NS, and Union Pacific own SD70Ms in the US.

Anyway, I'm being a perfectionist here, and the wheels do not look right, I'm not sure what the 'inside' shape should be.

I guess I should have defined inside, I mean this, the inside rim(?) and the face that points outside, that would have the axle going right through it.

Actually, are the wheels a standard shape? If so this would be very helpful.

(Though I have to admit, that video would be very helpful if I needed to model that area.)

This blueprints are not of US content but I hope it can give you an idea of how a wheel is ( I think US content will not so different).

This was exactly the first thing that came into my mind.

So what will it be now? SD70Mac or SD70M?
If it's a "M" we could have UP, because "Mac" isn't owned by UP.

i still think it could be changed into a SD70i. keep a unpainted copy of the SD70M when it is done and make the copy into a SD70i. more variety, more happy engineres!

Only because it's an CN-only engine.
But the difference is so barely visible, you can't even see it?

if you read earlyer posts i said that CN, and alaska railway had them. also the interior of the cab is different then the SD70M. the SD70i also has winterisation done to them. if you don't want to do it, just send me a copy of the blank (the engine just before you paint it) and i am willing to do it myself!
i don't know why nobody here want's any CN, it is really comon in northamerica spanning all across canada and all the way down to the gulf on the eastern side of the us. BNSF occasionaly runs CN locos on their trains in the northern states to. now you see why i want this type of loco, it is the variety of where it goes, not as much as just anoter loco. so please consider this when making judgements about CN and the posts about them!
