Cheap N' Worthless S2

Unread postby GERUNIMO625 » Fri Jan 01, 2016 6:20 pm

Happy New year Folks!

I hope everyone is enjoying their 2016 thus far. Knocked this together the other day. Dogmouse made it waaay too easy to repaint this old girl, I feel like I'm cheating. I would like to find correct CNW fonts and numbers before I turn it loose from the diesel ramp. Mine are close, but not that close. I would also like to do a 'Route of the Streamliners/400' scheme as well.

Again, Happy New year!

Can the interior also be repainted?

Would love to see the interior worn out just like the outside.

Thank you for the comments! Considering that you are all heavy hitters when it comes to content creation for this sim, well it means a lot. !*salute*!
As for interior weathering? Well, I must say from my experience they are usually dirtier on the inside then the outside so...I'll see what can be done.
The Grand Poobah (Dogmouse) did put a lot of detail in there, so might have to give me a minute to sort out what pipes goes where.
Thanks again for the comments, have a good one!

As far as the cab goes for interior weathering, there is only one main texture sheet to be concerned about. It's called cab_main. There are a few other minor ones there, too, but the main one will change most of what you would want to weather.

Thanks for the information Dogmouse, it came in handy. Even if you don't like it, I found the templates very intuitive. I might have gotten a little carried away with all the scratches and dirt. I almost don't even want to sit in the chair I might catch a disease *!lol!* Still have to few things to do yet, such as gauges, 600 volt sign, and the Alco decal.
Have a good day!

As you work in the cab, remember that the brass levers will be polished where the gloves wear on them. I know, picky... *!greengrin!*

Oh no, MadMike I don't consider it picky at all. Admittedly I had ALOT of .bak files from RWTools in the S2 file folder because I was messing around with the levers colors. I was attempting to polish the ends like you suggested but I just can't get it to 'look right'. I'll keep plugging! Thanks for the motivation! Also since I have you here, I would like to say I have been thoroughly enjoying your repaints and taking notes whenever I can.

Jerry,
did you get my PM about the dials? My computer is acting weird.

Also, I think I might have a texture for the worn brass handle, if you need it.

Yup just sent you a reply Sir.
Your computer is acting weird? So what you mean to say is its working completely normally? *!lol!*
If I go a day without my computer doing something 'weird' I assume the worst.

Welp, that was a lot of screwing around !*hp*! but worth it, in my opinion. Now I have to do the gauge lights and the needles. **!!bang!!** Rich (Dogmouse) I could of not done it without your pictures so the credit belongs to you, thank you for your help! I have to admit that the Lub. Oil Gauge isn't perfect its a little out of sync with the needle, but its close enough for railroad work. *!rolleyes!* The other gauges are pretty spot on.
Hope everyone has a good day!
