Hey guys! I just started repainting the Alberta car! Got the colour on and will be putting decals on the train soon! I got my inspiration from Amtrack505 who's version didn't actually make it onto the site. Keep in mind i just started. I'll post updates on the progress cay anyone help me out by supplying some images of the decals themselves? Some help with this would be much appreciated.
here is the progress so far:

I hope i can get the Visit script for the corner, and there will be no cities on the car as I don't know how to add dynamic text yet but feel free to create some if you like.

PS Is it alright if i make the car Micheal? since this is using your model.

seems i've hit a road block i'm gonna let it sit for a few and i'll get back to it later, the fact that the numbers are place differently is making it hard for me to place the Alberta Logo. i'll let ya know when i've done some progress.

Ahh can you cut the thing in half and then paste it on in two pieces? If that's not clear holler.

I could try that, that logo of Alberta is big for sure plus I had to resize the logo as it was derived from a large image.
Main thing is I got the letters to show up, and I am using the easier template that I got from the repaint kit so o can make sense of the layout. The editing programs I am using is GIMP and others like RSBintool, and DTXBmp. And Aptana 3 to edit the code.

I usually use Paint.net for this sort of thing but I think if I remember with GIMP you can copy and paste your logo into a new image. There you can re-size it or crop or whatever and then copy and paste it back to your main image.

I tried downloading Paint.net but my computer isn't compatible as it is vista so i use the next best thing: GIMP 2.8. I managed to get the Alberta logo on the same side of the car even though they're on both sides of the train i just have to adjust the height difference, and About the auto numbering: its offset on either side of the car so the numbers on one side looks fine till you look on the other. then it covers the logo.
here is an update:
Alberta Hopper side A.jpg
I removed the numbers by assigning a new batch of numbers for now but i got the car to update and got the decal to move over.

Can you create gold numbers for the car Buzz? they can use the shared folder for the other Canadian cars, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Got the repaint done! I might make a variant that doesn't have the "Take an Alberta Break" slogan, unfortunately the auto numbering is lopsided. I can't seem to make the numbers go to the right location on the side facing opposite the camera when you place it. I could use some tip on how to move the auto numbers to the right location.
here is the updated car:

I'd like to remove the sheen if i can, other than the car is good to go.

You can't move the auto-numbering. It's part of the model. As far as removing the sheen make a alpha layer that is about 80% black import it to the DXTBmp as the alpha before you save your BMP as a DDS texture and the sheen should be gone. Lighter towards white more sheen darker towards black less sheen.

Ok cool thanks for the compliment Boosted Fridge! Now that I have a saved normal file of what the repaint will essentially look like I can save the repaint to a car that has the proper numbering system. which version would you pick? I'm thinking the CN car. Thanks buzz I didn't think to create an alpha layer. And having the repaint presaved I can make the version without the "Take an Alberta Break" slogan, and have them both configured to both CN and CP. the difference is ALNX is CN, and ALPX is CP. This will create a pack of four cars that will look good in either train be it CN or CP. when I finish Can you take images of the cars for me when I am ready to package them? This will have high settings images, as my system is on lowest settings, I will package them into an wrp file using the package manager, and include a read me file.

Thanks Buzz I accreciate you taking the pics for me. I need to find the model that has the correct autonumbering layout got the alpha in place will test the results shortly, so while testing the alpha out I will check the other models and see where their layout is placing the number and I'll grab the geo file and replace mine with it and edit the Bin file so it grabs it, about the Numbers becoming yellow, I'll see if I can make a yellow variant for this and the Canadian car pack.
