PhilCiborowski wrote:So i was doing some digging through the excellent template for the new RS-1- and thanks to the 2 overlay layers, it looked fairly easy to create a decent repaint.
I have been at the skinning game with other programs, mainly NASCAR racing series titles from Papyrus... since the days of N1.
This, however, is my first shot at a RW repaint. It came about after a google search for RS1s revealed this gem :

Which i had a run in with when I was 8.
So i figured, what the heck... got my fonts all ready, got my color swatches ready, and here is what I ended up with after (admittedly) only a few minutes.

Its still very early on in the process- the stripes need to be lined up, missing texture areas addressed.. but is it worth continuing?
I know the headlights are wrong, i swapped the railing/grab iron colors, and a few other things, but (BE HONEST) is it worth continuing, even tho the model is not 100% prototypicaly correct..
Answer to all the questions asked in the OP:
Yes. You should continue the Repaint.

The textures for the logo have to be blank out by changing the alpha channel all black. The reference to the texture is in the geo file. If you delete the texture it is still being looked for and you get the texture missing thingy.

I saw the GE 90 tonner for the first time last week on a YouTube video and thought that would make a good repaint.
Keep going with the RS as well. It's looking good

As far as renaming it you need to copy and paste the RWA folder that's inside the RS-1 somewhere else and rename that folder AMTRAK. Then you can cut and paste it back into the RS-1 folder.
Now you have a new folder called AMTRAK. Go into that bin file and rename all of the places where it says RWA to AMTRAK. Use the find and replace feature so you don't miss anything. After I get by the names at the top I usually add the \RWA\ kind of thing so it doesn't mistakenly replace something I don't want replaced.
Save the changes and you should now have the thing show up as AMTRAK or whatever you call it.

Without going into the model it looks like you put the numbers on manually? I do most of my stuff with GIMP or Paint.net, however can't you just draw a rectangle around you backwards number and then just flip it horizontally? That should fix it I think.

The 44 tonner would be great. It is an underused DLC and a lot of fun to drive.
Great for shunting passenger cars around.

I thought that down low both sides of the cab are represented.

I didn't actually test this but it looks like the numbers should go here OK.
