My Memorial Day Project...

My Grandfather worked for these folks building cold storage facilities. They would give the employees boxes of apples at Christmas, and Grandad made sure we got some.

RIP Charles Boden.

Oh, these never existed in real life as far as I know. The Wenatchee Model Railroaders put these cars out as a club project for sale at the state NMRA Meet.

"Skookum" was also the name of the ONLY 2-4-4-2 in existence. The very first mallet type. Skookum Derailed in a curve on a log train. After that the Company called it quits and left skookum there. Grandad was one of the first to find it. He made signs for a homemade trail to the engine. Today the running gear i believe is at Mount Rainer Scenic Railroad. The Boiler is at Garibaldi Oregon.


Still have a old sign granddad made. He proudly served in the Korean Conflict.
