Hi everyone,

I'm starting a new project this year for the 80 year old Northern Pacific A-2 4-8-4. I'd like tips and tricks to build this engine. the main reason why i wanted to start this project is to build the Northern Pacific 4-8-4 series (A, A-1, A-2, A-3{SP&S 700}, A-4 and A-5). here are images of the Real and HO scale model of the A-2.

Can't wait to see start on progress on this, one of these would look great here at RWA in the file library.

Thank you for the Pages for the tutorial. I got another modeler to join me on Skype now, but I'll use this if I'm building my SD60 Demo.

The NP A-2's and A-3's (SP&S E-1) are identical except for larger flues and a few more tubes. And a driver wheelbase that is 11/64'' longer.

Why don't you do something new and original like:

Does it matter if we already have one like that, the one we have is payware. If this one is to be freeware it will be more then welcome and I'd be glad to have it.

Although on the other matter as well, if it's going to be payware, we don't really need two payware engines of the same model.

I think it will be awesome if we have this model.

This engine is Completely different. older feedwater heater, disc drivers(not the casted version), friction bearings, 70% cut off(not 75%), and coal fired.

Yes this will be freeware for anyone who wants the NP 4-8-4 Series.
Thanks,
Logan

Wow, now two of you are beating up another new guy. !*not-ok*! If Logan wants to model this locomotive, let him. If it's freeware, folks will snap it up when it's done, for sure. He says he has help now to create this beast, right? Seems like we have new modelers dropping out of RW all the time, in frustration over the way the sim works for creating "stuff".

Logan, just do what you feel is right for you. Post up some WIP screen shots of what's being built, when you can. !!*ok*!!

!*YAAA*!
Sounds great, when it comes to freeware we have next to zero. And in the case to a engine being freeware it doesn't matter to me if it looks like one that's payware, it's freeware and it will be the best freeware engine this sim has.

And I myself, I know that there are some here that don't have the other one because they can't afford it, a freeware engine would be awesome.
