New York Division-Bergen Line - Part Deux!

Just ran Bergan with 64bit. Running Searchlight simulation enhanced locomotives on areas that used to crash regularly. Runs smooth without any issues.

Its 2054Hrs and I'm hitting 64 bit for the first time: I am in my Croxton to Harrison Cut Off QD - Observations
* My prep was to install the update and reboot - that was it, no other changes.

1. Just starting the QD memory was at 2Gb, 3 mins later I was at 2.749GB
2. Lag is 'different" is smoother and has less duration in time.
3. FPSA is approved up 2 all the way around 18-20, 20-22 and so on. (its 10% )
4. I can rotate smoothly when I'm in Drone mode, mouse movements more smooth.
5. Distant >1.5 km Scenery is drawing later.
6. The Big Test is when the Hudson Generating Station/ Jersey City Populates - FPS was previously down to 8 when that draws. Wow, it dipped briefly to 8 , ram at 2,767GB,hit 8 again claimed to 14, 16 and is holding at 17 (Bergen Hill, Jersey city and the Hudson Generating Station just popped in, no abrupt sense of lag) Current Tile has 2385 Assets, Previous was 2650, tile to right at 1km 1250, tile to left at 1km 750, tile forward at 1km 2905. Total butts in FOV = 9,940 in 5 tiles. I can actually go to editor in a QD at get 16 fps instead of 6. Memory usage now 2,901GB. (Heh, I can see why we crash in Croxton!) I am using 1 GP35, caboose and 6 boxcars (no static consists).
7. Graphics 'crisper', I can zoom with the wheel mouse ... much more smoothly
8. Heavy Lag in curve of the "old loop" 6, 8 and 10 fps before stabilizing at 20. Its improved in the sense that the lag is more brief and less abrupt.
9. On Boonton, same lag as before 64bit and in same places, my high fps is higher, my low fps is the same.
10. Moving away from Croxton, memory usage is less, now at 2,697GB.

Overall impression: Improved! Lets stutter, more enjoyable experience. This update helps the Bergen! "Thank you DTG!"
*next up, I will Cruise out of Hoboken on my AI enabled run to Campbell Hall, with 2 EL E82 and 7 Erie Coaches

Hoboken Run 64Bit: On QD with AI
1. At Start 6fps and at 3,263 GB of mem used! ( Geez ) I'm wondering how may people stopped playing the route....

Seems to run fine but... I am having trouble with signals in freeroam. Incorrect aspects and some signals do not appear on the 2 D map.

Jamesphh - Thanks for checking in. I can put 2 hours towards signal correction.

1. I need the locations of the signals and your direction of travel
2. Free Roam Signals (on the Bergen) can behave differently than on the QD or Scenarios. The QD/Scenarios work 'better'.
3. Limited Aspects - have always been an issue - getting them to work. But they can and have been fixed (when I put the time in)
4. Not appearing on the 2D map - this is a new one and I am VERY interested in why that is.

Many of the signals are numbered for quick identification and they are the actual naming's.

To start. signals at end of platforms in Hoboken do not show in 2 D map. Edit shows only one link and no link zero. Signal to diverge onto Bergen no show in map. Lower level track H marker shrunk ( only short section ). Etc... This with std scenario. I will see what it look like in 32 bit.

Route may have been damaged. Am going to re download

Ran down the Bergen last night. Very smooth in 64 bit version.

Jamesphh, Buzz and AmericanSteam: Thanks for reporting in and that all is well. So, its safe for me to say that, you too, are seeing improvements in the reaction to stutter, lag, loading of assets in adjacent tiles, and perhaps a little bit of fps.

Would the consensus be, at this stage, to recommend running the Bergen in 64 bit exclusively?

Absolutely. I couldn't run it down in Croxton at all prior to this.

So far yes 64 bit At first it wouldn't load but given time to load everything it works great now.

I really appreciate the reporting. This confirms that Croxton/Secaucus area was the Devil's Triangle of system crashes! Based on the half dozen reports so far, this problem was more widespread than I suspected. I am thinking that, over the coming days, more positive reports will come in. This is good!
