That's the price of progress. God I miss Southern Pacific. My favorite RR of all time. Then HACK said they plan to double track most of this route in the future and daylight some tunnels. This route is my childhood. Busiest single track around. I prefer a busy single track over a busy multi-track. Once they scrap the last SD40-2 on earth, time to jump off a tall railroad trestle. I'm gonna be bummed out and depressed! *!sad!*

Found some great old school 1970s Southern Pacific pics here amongst tons of others:

It's called "Carr Tracks". You guys may know about it, but I just discovered it a couple weeks ago. Says over 6000 photos!

Here's a link to the photos section:

http://www.carrtracks.com/gallery.htm

In fact..... I'm gonna make a thread on it so people that don't know about it WILL know about it! !!*ok*!!
EMD 2-strokes rule! My all time favorite: SD45X also love the SD40-2/SD40T-2/SD45-2/SD45T-2/DD35A/DDA40X/SD70ACe/SD80ACe

yup. love that site.

And that GP9 running through the bridge... is the last freight SP ran using those tracks. They signed a contract with WP to use their tracks, which were less prone to having mud slides block them.

Wow... I just clicked on that link and then clicked on the album those photos were from. There is 2 kids sitting in front of the Southern Pacific #4449 and the taller kid looks like a kid version of the way my dad looked in the late 1970's. My mother happens to be here and I showed it to her and she freaked out. She agrees. Same looking face, same hair style, same build... just kid looking. His face isn't exactly the same, but it's eerily close.

And i just mentioned my dad (who died in 1985) in my earlier post and now I see that photo.... cue the twilight zone music. Just crazy coincidence !!!

Ive decided to make a second version of the Mojave sub a 1970's version so people can get some ATSF and SP action!

Also there is a benefit for people who watch my signature(HINT HINT: LOOK AT MY SIGNATURE)

Great! Now make a backup so it doesn't happen again!

you should hear CSX, they sing, make jokes(some are kinda mean lol), and talk about random things too, plus whatever happens to delay trains that night such as trains being shot at, fridges on the tracks, power lines, etc.
