I'm looking forward to the U's, too, but looking back through the thread just now, I can't find any further news about the wood rack? And, did those houses get posted anywhere? Love the "C&O Gray" on that section house; will fit beautifully into the COA.

Hi Tory, the houses are ready to go. I was actually trying to import them when I discovered the ability to do so was broke. The wood rack needs a little more work. The model is actually an upgrade of a version I did for MSTS. So at this point the actual geometry has been upgraded to RW standards, with the poly count doubled. The textures need a little cleaning up though and I've yet to do a normal map for it. I am also looking into getting some Coast Line equipment drawings to better check the accuracy of the model. I don't have anything going on for the summer, other than the wife having a baby in a few weeks, so I will try my best to get the items out there. Just gotta bare with me. *!!wink!!*

Jim,
I'm giving up on the Chinese pile o' junk and will just wait on yours. You have done a very fine job of modeling. !*brav*!

Things have slowed down a bit since the tornado that hit outside of town put us without power, off and on, for a few days. For the most part the model is done, except for textures. I've also been trying to optimize the UV layout and make it as re-skinner friendly as possible. All in all it is slowly getting there. I'm want to make sure I have absolutely everything air tight with this model since I will be building several other versions off of it. In addition to the U36B, I started a high res version of a U23B as well.

Latest revisions include the following:
New cab with closed door.
Re-worked window gaskets.
Baked AO for the roof panels.
Made a new radiator texture with alpha punch.
Broke off the wheel texture to its own sheet for use on multiple objects.
Broke off the Blomberg B texture to its own sheet for use on multiple objects.
Tweaked UV layout.

Here's a screenie of the roof with the new radiator mesh.

I'm honestly not sure if there is a way to animate locomotive doors. I figured you could either have a version with it open or closed even though moving with them open is definitely a no no when it comes to the FRA lol.

It will need GE sounds. I'll let someone else take care of that part if they want. I have no clue how to add or work with sounds.

the alco PA has animated doors and windows that can be moved with the touch of a mouse, you should ask how it is done.
