Doing beer and drugs today in Piedmont. Pick ups and dropoffs at Par Pharmaceutical and Manhattan beer then back to the yard. To the maintainer, all signals okay.

This is one of those things I had to get done prior to final ... now 7 years later I figured out how to get a rough facsimile of the view of Manhattan from Hoboken in the game.

Lots of stuff in this one - star of the show is E.Rutherford-Carlstadt-Moonachie. I reworked all the consignees. I believe they all have visible places the spot cars. Hope ya like it.

As before, check out the Hoboken - Secuacus QDs. No need to drive the whole route .. its the last 3 miles that count for the signals.

A classic in its own right, this is the Wednesday Route Report and Update Status for this Friday, May 7th, 2021.

For tonight's guest, and as we are at the end of the line, we have opera! I am dedicating this week's update to Kris120 in an all-German tribute.

[ ] Johann Strauss hätte die Strecke vor zwei Jahren beendet!
[ X ] Keine routenaktualisierung in dieser Woche

This is a live 1993 performance of the "Voices of Spring" an orchestral waltz, written in 1882 by Johann Strauss II.

Thank you Kris.

Classical music is exquisite, and an acquired taste if you are not a student. Opera takes the music to a completely different level and we have the human voice paired with the music, that can transcend the work. I spent several enjoyable hours to come this evening's musical selection. I hope you enjoy it.

Route building, absolutely, is a form of art that, crudely, can imitate life. In this case, it is more magic, a slight of hand, to suspend disbelief, all to convince you, that are somewhere else in this mess of pixels.

On my way out the door, I will continue with ladies (of different sizes) singing.

Are we done? Yeah - I am done. And I need to be done.

So, 2 days ago I pushed out Route Update Number 241. This includes all signal additions for AI, as well as improvements, fixes and the completed NJ&NY Branch work. ( I look forward to Mainlines and AmericanSteam taking a second pass and switching a few out with the new scenery).

My signal boards are complete to Central Valley. I do think this a better way, visually, for you to see the passing miles. This is also consistent with Erie practice as far as I know. I hope you enjoy these little touches.

Moving ahead. Work Continues in Croxton: 1. Submerged signals in Croxton yard and 2. Scenery work on the "Merchant's lead".

Looks like 2 more updates that I will release as the work is completed. And that will be it. Thanks for riding along gentlemen for all this time.

Minerman, many of us are so fortunate to be presented, with this exemplary work, that you have dedicated much of your life to share. You've created a work of art, a creation that I am partially familiar with. I spent a lot of time, in Northern Jersey, and recall the Mahwah Ford Plant, and remember many of the towns you have recreated. This will be a happy occasion for you to finally reach the end after 7 years. On the other hand, though we have a brilliant route to spend many happy hours with, it will be sad, in a way, not to be able to follow your amazing journey any longer.

Thank you for your time, energy, and attention to detail. Truly amazing!! !*salute*! !!*ok*!! !*cheers*!

bswitzrw,

Thank you sir. The end of the line is bittersweet. Work, which has been ongoing, daily, for the past 7 years is part of a daily routine. It is difficult to let it go. It would be easy to continue on as Buffalo is only some 300 miles away. The time has come to move on, enjoy the work itself, and devote this new found time to enrich myself and improve my day-job skills. Its Saturday night, and I am settling in on another build session in Secaucus. Soon, this will be done and that will complete all my to-do lists.

I am proud to have delivered what I said what I was going to. I also exceeded all my route delivery promises. Port Jervis was something I did not want to commit to and for good reason - I took 3 years.

This work I wanted to do differently. I could have put a wall of trees on each side of the track and burned through the route in a year. This was too personal to do that way. What you get in an intimate portrayal of a place and a time. And those towns, all these places you just blow by in a car or on the train, so detailed, you can visit these places in person and recognize the buildings. You know, and people have said it (Buzz!) you can drive it a dozen times and you can always find something new that you didn't notice before.

Carry on.

As I eager to get feedback on the completed rework of the NJ&NY branch and the completed industrial spur in Carlstadt, I invite those who saw it unfinished to take another look.

Things to look for...cattails, people and little scenes.

Carry on!
