I paid to see Woody Herman and his orchestra play in 19 something something! *!greengrin!* Some of the more mature guys have made their musical interests known. I do believe I outed myself already when I played Lawrence Welk.

Below is a link to something that actually 1. fits with this industrial thing I have and 2. is swell for route building. But first a little background: The Seeburg Background Music System was used to provide 'Mood Music' in the days before Muzak was generally available. The SICM could play any type of 78 RPM record, while the others used specially produced, 16 2/3 RPM records provided by Seeburg. The record sets were leased by Seeburg to the owner of the machine, could only be placed into service on the date specified on the carton, and had to be returned after a specific period of time. Seeburg offered several different sets of music, tailored towards holidays, type of music, etc. The recordings were generally instrumental covers of recently popular tunes, by unnamed groups.

Im sure some of you guys actually heard a Seeburg. Note this is not the Muzak System. Muzak was delivered across the nation with dedicated telephone lines, and later satellite broadcast. From the local telephone office, Muzak was normally delivered to the end-user through more telephone lines, or sometimes through an FM Sub-Carrier Audio (SCA) broadcast. The Seeburg is an on-site and stand alone device.

Point one: I listen to this while route building - it is continuous play and 100% instrumental.
Point two: this reminds me of Grocery Store Music and I am sure some of our consignees out there had this playing.
Point three: the music was created from the 1950's through the mid 1980s, some of the arrangements are lively and unexpected. The version of "Honky Tonk Woman" by the Rolling Stones is both outrageous and strangely listenable at the the same time.
Enjoy:

Warning: if you are under 40 years of age and listen to the Seeburg for more than 3 minutes... catastrophic brain liquification is highly probable.

Carry On!

Yes, I listen to Liberace, the Mills Brothers, Ink Spots, Perez Predo and I am familiar with Desi Arnaz signing the "Straw Hat Song".
I would like to make a quip about Liberace but that's too obvious. The man was an amazing pianist.

Question out there to you folks. The Enhanced Signaling in Hoboken generates what you see below in the HUD. This a problem for any of you?

These speed markers are used to control the aspects.

Can you "hide" certain markers so they don't overlap and show in the HUD? And my **!!2cents!!** I've run NJT trains in and out of Hoboken Terminal in real life and there weren't any visible speed signs. Speeds were in the time table and governed by signal indication. If you're trying to make it easier for people to understand the speed changes in the HUD then I understand.

Overlapping speed signs in the HUD, inbound to Hoboken Platform.

Johns you can not hide the speed markers only add or delete. As you know the speed goes from 30 down to 15 before the platform then to 10 on the platform. The "game" controls and displays speed to the user from how the track ribbon is labeled. The speed is show in the HUD. The track display on the hud will post a little flag show an oncoming change in track speed. Lastly the signal can all be programmed to show a limiting speed through a switch for example. This limited speed will show a speed flag in the HUD as well.

The next issue is that the game as in real life with show a limited aspect (yellow) when the track speed is 15 and below.

The final issue is that I insist that an interlocking path in Hoboken should present green. As we "know" from the time table how speed is governed and where.

So my issue has always been that I want to present the real speeds where there are with green aspects.

Kris120s issue is to ensure AI trains behave in a scenario. Their behavior is dependent on game consistant signals and track speed.

I have to decide what compromise to make. So do all these signs bother you?

I think what I will do is release and let you guys have at it.
If there is something funky, we can fix it. It's way past time for an update.

Note what you have now is unmodified. I have the actual changes.

I want to push out what I have done and push Kris120s updates out and let that burn in.

I need you guys to run just the Hoboken to Secaucus QDs there are 3. And to run the Secaucus to Hoboken QDs to get your feedback.

The purpose is to test the signals and how the HUD looks.

Be critical!

This is the end.

Americasteam re run your Carlstadt job and gimme some feedback.
