I made two copies of all the crossing .bins and named them with suffixes _SA for short activation and _MA for medium activation. Then I made two copies of the LUA files and named them with suffixes _SA and _MA and edited the WARN_DISTANCE, CLOSE_DISTANCE and PASS_DISTANCE to what I need. Then I went through all the .bins using RW_Tools and redirected them to the appropriate LUA's. Took me flippen ages but it was worth it. I've got them ready to go, and Jerry (SMM Digital) told me I can do whatever I want with them, but that was before his departure so I need to check with him if it's still ok to upload them.

Send them to me. I'll bundle them with the others.

Will do. Just going over them with a fine tooth comb. I discovered a few anomalies which I think are due to me having made the back up of them whilst still playing around with them months ago. I suppose if I do the muted ones I can send them to you later and you'll just add them to the existing stuff?

Sure, but wouldn't having redundant bells be more realistic than having no sound at all?

One activated arm/flashers in each area would still have a bell. For example, at the location in the video there are three barrier arms, so the extra one emits an extra bell and it sounds weird. There are a few places on my route with complicated crossing setups which it would apply to.

But hey... you give me an idea. It would be cool if you could just set a bell on or off in the editor! That aint gonna happen any time soon though.

Just been listening to prototypes. I couldn't be more wrong with the bell thing. Some crossings have 3 bells all ringing out of time. Sounds kinda cool actually. So no muted crossings.

Feeling a bit dispondent. Spent 100's of hours laying track painstakingly with mininal incriments in gradient to achieve a smooth look and ride, and the day I lay my last piece of track I find a video showing the gradient smoothing tool. So now I have thousands of sections of track, when I could've had less than a hundred !*hp*!

Where's the "crying" emoticon?

Is the grocery warehouse just outside of Hickory still there?

I'm not sure, I live in New Zealand (Hobbiton to be precise). I use Google satellite maps and street view, and when in doubt I ask the guys who run the CCRY on thier Facebook page.

K. I remember it because that was where the Carolina & North West kept their CF7 when I was over there. I have a pic of it somewhere (probably in Wyoming at my son's house).

Sounds like something I should encorporate into the route!
