Should be not too difficult as they seem to have a license from Amtrak now.

It's probably a Homeland Security thing. Don't want those terrorists to have working knowledge of the cab, do we? (yes, I am being a sarchastic butt)

I doubt it is that. Amtrak will accommodate people if the right channels are followed and you have a legitimate reason other than because you are a rail fan and want to score e-cred.

Excellent work! The only thing is the windows, they should be tinted so it is harder to see from the outside in. Otherwise all good here. Did you ever find a solution for the nose?

!*brav*!
These look brilliant Reppo. You even did the hatch at the nose. !!*ok*!!
One question: is this the latest Acela scheme? (on the cars)

Yes. I wonder if it then makes sense to add passengers to the cars or can you still see inside then?

Well it depends on how much tint is in the windows. There is still a possibility that you can see inside on a busy train, but it makes no since to not to have any passengers in those cases. (We don't want to go bak to MSTS)

That is the only non-promotional scheme The Acela Express ever had.

I don't think tinting is possible because of the nature of how it currently would have to be done.. You can make the windows very dark but the problem is they will also get super shiny to the point they stop looking like windows.

The colors are off on the coaches also. Looks purple

SMMDigital made a tinted window mod for the SD70ACe. I can't judge it because I haven't tried it, but this doesn't seem to look like a fake window.

Hmm on my phone it looks more blueish now. Gonna remind myself to check the color profile on that monitor.

Jerry's window tint modification is a simple adjustment to the alpha channel for the window texture. The less transparent alpha produces a very convincing tinted window effect, especially with a little color tweaking to the default windshield on the SD70ACe. I see no reason why this could not be employed on the Acela models.

On a side note, if you ever found the time Jerry, there's at least one person who would really appreciate a modified window alpha for the Dash 9 pack.

Hello all!

Thanks for your feedback about the cars windows. Now I have a question for you...

Does have the loco a two tones horn?
One high and one low?

I won't make or set the sounds, but now I need to know how to animate the horn lever.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Reppo.
Look into these videos:

You can hear that the Acela, as most other North American trains, only has a one tone horn.
The only thing they do is blast it long and short, so it's important the the horn lever can be applied and released quickly.
So there should be no delay with the horn lever.

This should help. The Acela Express Horn is called K5LA. As timm stated all American train are one toned, they just have long and short blast.

Here is what the k5LA horn sounds like

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HV-LJ5ts ... re=related

As far as triggering it from the cab there is a lever that you push down or up for short and long blast.

Here is the lever circled in red. The neutral position is centered. To activate you have to pull it down or up.
