I don't usually get excited for DTM products, but that looks fantastic so far.

I wonder if you figured out why i titled this chapter "Episode III, The Erie Rises" ? I figured out very early on, that if there was a route for the Erie Lackawanna, then maybe just maybe people would help create the gear. And after 5 -1/2 years - look at us now! There is a post of the very first page of the original thread that i have placed below. That I always think about and it makes me smile, because no one knew really how serious this project is and the lengths to which I was willing to go. ( I didn't even know I would go THIS far!)

*CORRECTION*
I just got a message from my father regarding the post below:

My father was also a big help in identifying controls, how they worked and what they were for. (I found out that there is a hammer in the cab to whack the sand pipes when they get stuck)

Message from my father:

I read your latest on the U34. Just wanted to add that all the engines were supposed to have what we called a "set" which is a hammer and a chisel. In the old days it was used to chisel brake shoes that fused to the wheel from over heating. Some also had chains to secure engines when you tied them up.

Geez, I have to be careful around here with all these 'rivet counters', so I stand corrected! *!greengrin!*

Great news, Minerman!

My command of the English language being imperfect, there are two things I don't understand from your post:

Because of "rules" only DTG routes can have content created for it and go on steam.

EL is a Norfolk Southern heritage line and it appears they have the say so.

I just don't know what these mean. Can you explain?
Thanks.

I will try. It is my understanding, that for content, such as locomotives, the livery (roadname) must correspond to a published DTG route. You can't have New Haven, without a new haven route.

The Erie Lackanna name is controlled by the successor company, Norfolk Southern. The have to give DTG approval to use the images and logo.

This information is what has been written to me

OK thanks.
Now I'll struggle to understand why, for the first statement.

We could have a really interesting conversation regarding this loco must have route "policy", if I could really confirm 100% this was policy. This appears to me to be true in practice. If anyone has exceptions to invalidate my premise please do so.

It is this route builders opinion that many a dollar has neen lost by this practice! Personally, I think DTG does a bang up job with their artwork. As we know this vacuum has been filled by some amazing guys right here on RWA.

And me, trying toget Erie Lackawanna into this game...has been such a journey!

Just an fyi, I am out of town this weekend so no route building. While I'm away if some one wants to drive Bergen from Middletown to Otisville and analyze the work.
That would be great. =)

Read my mind already!

Every mile I drive on this route I keep telling myself I need to do this again looking the other way just so I can see more stuff. The best ever just continues to get better.

Buzz, Every mile I drive on this route I keep telling myself I need to do this again looking the other way just so I can see more stuff. The best ever just continues to get better.

Two things: I love reading this and then i get embarrassed because it's so kind to my work. Second, i actually get stuck putting this detail in because I see it. Some of it is so complex I say this to myself..."reallly? Oh, come on, I have to put this in?"

That Revere Smelting Plant cost 18 hours of work. It looks pretty convincing too, so when someone takes a shot of work like that, I get a big fat smile on my face and that encourages me to do more of the same!
*!!thnx!!*
