NS - You saw HX ! Do I need to put the original back in? *!lol!*
The original can be found submerged to the south of HX Tower.

Route Progress Report for Thursday:

We started off at Station Rd. which is 2.5 miles west of MP55.5 (Salisbury Mills-Cornwall) As of this morning, I have road and trees from Bull road which is 4.21 Miles West of MP 55.5. My goal for this week was to finish the 3.5 miles of straight track you see that marks the current end of the road. That point is 5.66 miles west of the station. I will not make that for Friday. So, what I will do is keep working through Friday into Saturday, to see if I can complete this section. As Sunday is Mothers Day, and I know quite a few mothers, *!greengrin!* work will be paused Saturday Night and most of Sunday, in celebration of those amazing women we call Mom. So, I gotta work my tail off, because the next update will be in 2 weeks. IF I finish the straight this week, in 2 weeks its possible to be in Campbell Hall. We will be meeting up with the Susquehanna again at MP 63. (SIXTY THREE! ) !*hp*! at roughly MP 65.5 we are at Campbell Hall Station. After that another 3.5 miles to finish the end of the Graham Line. Then, we talk.

I also wanted to note that, going forward, we will be extending tree lines to 1 mile of each side of the track. My 1250 foot scenery rule will still apply. Though I am bending the super detail rules, as for this section, the cuts are deep and you really don't see much aside from trees and grass from the track. I am, however, placing all the houses that existed before 2004 to reflect the era I appear to be following most of the time. I am also actively seeking and installing every single farm I see. If anyone can show me cows in a field 1250 foot or less from the track, please let me know. I am dying to use the cow asset!

Best,
MM

Left a comment there and also want to say here that I think it would be popular here for 2017.

Woooo Yeah - Back on Top!
There is no debate: Running the Bergen is FUN! *!greengrin!*

*ROUTE UPDATED*

The Minermen are very proud to present:

Route Update Number 166
New York Division-Bergen Line 9.9.0.3: Washingtonville
Additions: Extend Scenery Salisbury Mills-Cornwall, from MP57 to MP59. Add extensive tree scenery out to 1 mile on each side of track, residential and farms. Add cripple track at MP58 and signaling. Even More trees .. at 112.248 MB, trust me, we got a lot of trees!

Fixes: Correct Graham Line to Hoboken QD which incorrectly routed the track back to Ridgewood.
Remember folks, you can run any darn train you want on the Bergen - They ALL look good! *!greengrin!*

No BS, No pretentious captions, just good clean scenery as we see it. For your maximum railroading pleasure! !!howdy!!

I took a short run on your route the other day to compare your version of the Moodna with the real thing, while that was mostly accurate, I couldn't help but notice some major issues with your swamps near Washingtonville. The huge amount of small 3D trees in the swamps gave me a 17fps reduction from the mainline near the larger of the two off of Station Road. I recommend using the 2D hawthorn bushes for the more distant parts of the swamps (you can increase the scale on those too to give them more of an unhealthy waterlogged look). I also noticed a complete lack of swamp grass, I'm not talking about the tall cattails and reeds, but the short grass and the brown roots of the reeds, I've found using slightly scaled down "Scrub 01" and "Scrub 02" assets gives a very realistic look, then if you submerge the "Grass Field" assets by about 75% you'll get the look of the short grass.

Be aware there is a fine line between helpful suggestions and critisizm of other creators work. You might consider using PM as a more useful tool to offer suggestions.

Buzz, this is open constructive criticism, something that most route builders need and are quite used to, from my past experience with Minerman, he is no stranger to the helpfulness of constructive criticism.

I might as well jump in...

JH picked up on a concern of mine - these new swamps were an experiment. I am using NJ Tree Near Coppice as I have trees in those marshes. The drawback - they are FPS sucking monsters. But they look so good! I had neglected to note here on release that you should expect a huge fps hit in this area. As I was attending to all the great moms in my life, I was away. No doubt, I have to dial that back a bit and if that doesn't work try something different. Part of the fun for me is experimenting with different assets to see what I can come up with. Since our last update, people were reporting excellent fps ... so I took a chance and decided to load the area. The result, as JH observes, was not too good!

About those 'fine lines' ... that was riding the line, but you know what, I am on a mission and I will make you believe you are in Orange County, New York. Criticism or praise, right or wrong, is always a help, because you took your time to say something and I appreciate that.

However, my route building time is limited and what I do not have time for is a debate over semantics. You can count me out on that.

Here is an image of the offending section in Washingtonville. Any of you hunters out there have seen these kind of wooded wetlands before, and you know like I do, that deer have to walk around it and maybe come here for water. One more thing ... if you do know this kind of country, you know the tool to use is a 30-30 and forget the scope.

You know, I have been married for quite a bit of time, but if I were to have an ex-wife....
!!howdy!!
