Excellent job! !*brav*! Have been waiting for an improved Cajon for a long time. Really looking forward to running it.

Cajon really is a beauty being built again from the ground-up; i think this is set in the present day.

Filling the East end of Barstow in, working my way towards USMC Nebo Annex. Seems like for every 20 hours I put in it extends my completion estimate by 40.

Yes, present day despite my choice of locomotives (I like running the SP SD45).

I just noticed the billboards and I don't know if I've ever seen them in a route before, either way they really help make the scene look 'real'. I also love the terra cotta roofs.

It's going to be difficult to wait for this!

eta ~ found a good collection of photos during the addition of the third track and daylighting the tunnels

Thought it might be useful to do a comparison of select areas, so first up is Sullivan's Curve. First screenshot is the original Cajon Pass and second is my interpretation with the added main on the lower BNSF trackage and the siding on the upper U.P. right-of-way. I did this about 7 months ago and find myself regularly going back to move rock assets around - I never seem to be able to get to a state of satisfaction here.

And throwing in the Mormon Rocks which are not even in the original route: (I move these assets all over the place as well on a regular basis. One day I'll have to stop it and call it a day for this area)

Your version of Sullivan's looks spot on! !!*ok*!!

Hard to believe the default was so bad, especially given that the track was laid by 3DTS (or so I've heard), and that it was right in their back yard. *!rolleyes!*
Cheers!

If I had to guess, I'd say that Kuju wanted to push into the American market ASAP after releasing Rail Simulator. Accuracy was probably not as important as the general theme.

I spot a short retaining wall with some fencing on the inside of the BNSF tracks. Never saw that before. Thanks for the link, I'll have to see about putting that in.
