Thanks Buzz and still having fun for sure!

WIP: Start of the Lucerne Valley Subdivision in Hesperia. Still much to do here as you can see that the detail gets thinner towards the end of the video.

Have you thought about how to release the route?
Does it qualify for Steam Workshop?

It doesn't qualify for the Workshop because of 3rd party assets one of the more notable being RCAP. In order to keep the asset hunt to a minimum I will package almost all the freeware assets with the route, there will be some exceptions such as the 3DTrains freeware track, roads and vegetation which I would hope everyone has, and if not, an easy enough proposition to grab them from 3DTrains... and, of course, RCAP is very easy to grab from here if one does not have it. When all is in shape and ready I will post the readme.txt in this thread that will list all of the required assets (should not be significantly different, if at all, from the list already mentioned earlier in this thread).

As for releasing the route I would hope Bob is agreeable to hosting it here. I will officially ask when the alpha is ready to go. I would prefer that it only be available through Railworks America.

I am getting close to release and I have shared it with a couple of members who have provided me with valuable feedback and have helped ensure that the rollout will be as pain free as I can make it.

A bit of work from today, small section of one of the horse farms on the Lucerne Valley sub.

I think I can speak for Bob that we would be proud to host this project here.

Thanks Buzz, that's one less thing to worry about.

SD40Australia wrote:This route is amazing and I think the guys, especially Bob, would want to host it. Not speaking for them of course. I can definitely see this route as the hottest download in a long time, not saying the other work by other authors is no good. Not at all. The time invested in this must be unreal. It must be in the thousands of hours. Erik lost count after doing Donner Pass Redux at 2000 hours (don't quote me) apparently so if this isn't similar.....

Thanks for the work I will be looking forward to downloading, installing and running it.
*!!thnx!!* *!!thnx!!* *!!thnx!!*

Thanks Daniel. Like I say, a rough estimate is 2400 hours in so far and somewhere around 500 more to finish all the scenery.

No, not another cement plant!... well, it is and it isn't.

CalPortland Company dealing with aggregates only at this point. Cement production stopped a few years ago but with a 100+ year history of providing cement for Los Angeles and beyond I decided to keep the cement flowing for old times sake.

This was almost the first area I fleshed out after laying track from Summit to West Colton. It's been in a sorry state for 2 years with just place holder buildings so it was a welcome change from the Lucerne Valley slogfest.

About 10 hours in to a massive facelift for this area. More to come later.

Pay no nevermind to the motive power, it's just my loco of choice for the month.

Do we get an Alpha soon, before the 2500 hr mark?

Before the 2500 hr mark is looking more and more likely each day. And it is a huge complex, to give a better sense of that I offer the following screenshots (It's not done yet but it's sapped my energy for today);

No sooner do I turn around and a month has gone by. Track markers, speed limits, portals and checking things in general have taken up the bulk of my time but I have worked a bit on scenery even though I promised myself I would not. Some WIP shots of an area I have no confidence that is even relevant anymore but, indulging in a bit of route/artistic license, I am fleshing it out in order to include a bit more work for locals regardless of whether it is prototypical or not.

USAF Plant 42... or is it Palmdale Regional Airport... or is it both? I find it hard to imagine it being a public airport when there is a U-2 and a handful of drones parked on the tarmac near the old/present? Northrop-Grumman section. So, with that being said I am leaning towards keeping it as an active USAF/Research facility.

Thank you sir!

I get more excited when I think of finally getting this out to the community and taking a few weeks off.

Youd should take a few weeks off once the route has been released. Unstress, relax, gather some new strength, while we play around on the route.

There will inevitably be some small mistakes to correct afterwards, so it's best to come back to working on the route fresh from a break.

That's pretty much the plan. I don't think there is any stress that has to be shed, it's more along the lines of, but not exactly like 'familiarity breeds contempt'. Sometimes there is a feeling of 'Not this again' but usually a couple days off fixes that.
