Here are some of the thus-so-far cab.

The air gauges and ammeter. In order: Brake Cylinder / Brake Pipe dual needles; Main Reservoir Pressure / Equalization Reservoir dual needles; Brake Application Gauge; Control Air Gauge; Ammeter. Don't worry, the lines on the gauges are just guides.

A heater.

Will have more soon. Again, thank you very much mdurdan for the cab shots! Invaluable and very much appreciated.

wait wait wait, did you say 150 000 polys, or did you mean 15000 polys? 150k would kill even the best pc's if you have more than 2 locos in a scenario at once

150K is a ton. If sketchup says 150K just wait until you export it as a 3ds file. hopefully its 150K on export. it will be at least 2x that number if not. for you to go back an re-optimize this you would have to do it by hand in sketchup. you need to regroup intersecting faces, andredo piping that uses 4-5 sides instead of the default 24. if you use a optimizer tool in any other program you will get massive stuttering problems in the game like i did when i used the optimizer tool in 3ds max on my very first model.

I gave the best advice for sketchup users. its not true that sketchup uses far more polys than 3ds max for ex. if the user was intelligent about how they lay the facing and piping they can achieve the same results in sketchup using the right free plugins out there. there are pipe laying plugins shape plugins chamfer plugins and it really makes sketchup a big time program.

otherwise nice detail! if you need any advice PM me simer

Like I said, that is at current, with both interior and exterior in one, and that is an export. You can't get an accurate number in Sketchup. Also, I still have to go through poly reduction. It will go down immensely, don't worry. All is grouped, all my piping is 5 or less.

Well, had a hard drive failure whilst putting together the movie, so I will have to make another one, sorry.

Well, it has been a ridiculous amount of time since I last updated, but here you go, a quick shot of one of the many updates I will bring you in the near future. I will be taking more later today and hope to get more uploaded soon.

What you have here is the butt of the C425 showing off the coupler I designed from actual Columbus Castings diagrams. It was, by-far, the most annoying things to make in Sketchup do to all the curves, but I think I nailed it.

mdurdan wrote:I don't think the sim is gonna take too nicely to that static coupler, I've seen it dome before and they usually don't turn out too pretty, your better off making a new coupler to go in the coupler folder.

That is exactly what I am planning on doing. The couple will be exported as it's own new coupler entity. I also plan on expanding the coupler catalog by doing the other types, as well as making the air hoses. And the poly count has stayed rather constant. I still have yet to reduce it further. I have found quite a few areas to reduce.

Alright, here is the next render! This is another shot of the couple system. The air brake hoses will be animated, and I hope to get the MU hoses to be animated as well. Anyway, I finished the ends, basically, so here you go! Warning, this picture is extremely big!
