Just a note, I'm pretty sure that the picture file named "Laramie Hotel.JPG" is actually the Cheyenne hotel. The Laramie hotel and depot were a combined building. However, for the route you can probably get away with placing the Cheyenne hotel asset in Laramie too.

Yeah, it's possible there was a standard (more or less) design for the hotels. So it would be OK to use my Cheyenne hotel asset in Laramie !!*ok*!!

The reference to Nebraska comes from Fort Laramie originally being in Nebraska Territory. I Googled "Laramie Nebraska" and found this little nugget:

"Fort Laramie, Nebraska Territory, was the most noted name on the map of the West from 1854 to 1863. Although now the old fort is in Wyoming forty miles beyond the Nebraska state line, the memories of its early days belong to Nebraska history."

I've done some research the last few days and came across the book 'Laramie Railroads' written by Lawrence Ostresh and Jerry Hansen.
It also includes pictures of the hotel and the station building so the hotel qrfan3 has posteted is the correct one for Laramie. But I think I'll have to improvise a bit till I get a station building for Laramie.

"In 1900, the station was modified, with two new wings added to the north and south ends, and significant changes elsewhere as well. These renovations were so significant that some historical and newspaper accounts refer to a new station being built."

I think the original building could be between the three main tracks and the yard tracks of the current route.

There are also some pictures of the roundhouse, the machine shop and the powerplant in the Laramie Railroads book and their positions. I would love to see them also in TS someday :D

Perhaps mrennie might do these for the route if he has time.

After some more historic photos I've reworked and repositioned most of Laramie. The mainline in 1869 was on the seventh track west from the current depot.
Here are some more WIP pictures.
There are still some details missing but we slowly make progress :D

The industry building on the far left is the rolling mill. It was used to recycle tracks. It lasted from 1874 when construction began, to 1910 when it burned. I think I'll also include some industry so you can do some switching and yard work...

Wonderful!

I see you found my measuring stick for spacing the telegraph poles !!*ok*!! It takes a heck of a lot of patience to place them one at a time along miles and miles of route, but it's worth it to get them leaning randomly.

Nice way to make a 12-bay roundhouse too!

It's two of the 6-track roundhouses from the Cheyenne 1869 route (the one that's included, practically for free, with UP 119).

Yep, it's closely modelled on Como roundhouse. The train depot at Cheyenne is also modelled on the depot at Como. The reason is that about two and a half years ago I started making a part of the Denver, South Park and Pacific RR (I put it on hold after a few months and then abandoned it completely later on when Clear Creek came out, but at least I didn't waste a couple of the assets I'd made).

Thanks. Yes, I'm using a track placed in offset to the mainline and using the measuring stick on it. It takes lots of time to place them but if you only build a mile and then do something other it isn't as boring as it sounds *!greengrin!*

These are two roundhouses of the Cheyenne route put together. The original Laramie roundhouse in 1869 has had space for 14 locos, that in the sim only 12. But I think, thats more than enough. But placing the turntable was very annoying because after it takes lots of trying to get the track on to the right connector, the tracks where on it but the loco still derailed !*hp*! But now the tracks are working fine even if it seems that the track of the turntable doesn't align 100% with the track on the ground.

If you have more assets left over that fits in this route it would be great to include them. On some places improvising is ok for me, like the roundhouse, but other buildings like the machine shop on the first picture is just a 'compressed' freight depot which now looks a bit strange from the near.
