Robbit, there are static consists and rolling stock only. As I change the route every week, it would blow up the AI on your system with each update.
I have all my test QDs in there is as well.

The best QDs to drop a loco down and switch are Passaic Junction, Piermont Branch and Dundee Park. The rest are run through jobs.

Regarding Finalization - your looking at 15 months of work right now. I am working up the Passaic Branch to Teterboro with the scenery. This will take another 2 weeks. Then, we cross the river and work Croxton and Jersey City. Its gonna take months - it will be worth it. And thank you for joining us on this journey! *!!thnx!!*

Plovdiv21 - We can't wait either. The whole route was practice to get to this point. Jersey City - Hoboken: It is dense, a 200 foot hill bisects the area, track everywhere - tunnel, 30 huge industrial buildings, NJP&L Plant. This is it! Scenery starts on the East side of the Hackensack River in September. We hope to pull it off - we want to pull it off!

I haven't been tracking your progress recently, but man did you guys get far. CP SPORT looks terrific. Are you planning to do the whole Meadowlands Line?

Sully, after building the Dundee Spur - I named a siding after you in appreciation, since you were so influential in getting me to build the Bergen Line instead of the Main and then to do the Dundee Spur.

We just put in Wood-Ridge Station on the Pascack Line and that is as far North we are going for the time being. Were holding back on the Meadowlands and Teterboro to do the scenery in Croxton and head to Hoboken. I just found out today that I need to beat DTG to Hoboken!

So, grab the update tomorrow and see what has been going on ... and find your siding!

Hello Mr. Minerman, Sir, !*salute*!

I'm sorry, I don't know your name, but, I see that you've found the new DTG route containing Hoboken, recently advertised, and probably one or two other areas that would fit in well with your Bergen line, are you going to use the assets off this Payware route, when it gets released, which I would hazard a guess and say could be in the next 2/3 weeks, or, are you going to hand build your own passenger stations, and other buildings, in the Hoboken area??

Steve - Adam here (minerman the elder)
I am very aware of the NJSL route, at first I was mad, then I was happy. Happy I didn't have to bash together parts to make it sort of look like the terminal. Mad that I didn't beat DTG there! For the record, the plan was to always go to Hoboken. Since all I had, sort of, was the Lackawanna Clock Tower, I couldn't advertise Hoboken.

So going forward I will be first working in Croxton Yard, which the tracks are in place. I will get the NJSL and replicate as closely as possible their setup of Hoboken, less the concrete ties, and replicate Hoboken and boost detail if needed. Then I had planned on relaying all track from Hillburn Yard north .. .and superelevate, update the trees and roads and adjust the terrain to correct height. Then lay more track west with scenery to Campbell Hall, NY. And then, finally at long last, adjust my areas and update with improved DLC or just clean up and detail work.
Then I put the whole thing up for month - let the scenario writers at it - fix what they need annnnd release.

I will be under a ton of pressure to release and finalize. I will fight as long as I can hold out to get the route in tip-top condition.

So, that, in general, is what my plan is.

Hello Adam,

Thank you very much for your reply. Firstly, I would say not too worry that DTG have beaten you to it, I don't think anyone on this forum knew they were doing this route until last week, it's Sod's law that they've brought it out now, it could have happened earlier this year, or, in a few month's time in the future, that's life, at least before you finish your layout you might possibly be able to utilise some of the larger assets which would save a you a bit of time in you having to build them, obviously, but, I suppose they'd have to be the right shapes and colour to fit in with your route demographics. Secondly, I wouldn't stress yourself out too much, this is a labour of love, which shows in what you have created so far, there's no rush, take your time, otherwise you'll make mistakes which would then have to be rectified and putting you under even more demands, so, just watch your blood pressure. *!lol!*
I went onto Google street view to see your route take shape and have followed it for the whole length so far and I'm gobsmacked at how authentic you've reflected the area so well for it's entirety, please keep going, it'll be one of the greatest freeware routes of all time, that I can assure you, and I've been here from Kuju day 1, so, I've download a fair few routes in the past 8 years and deleted quite a few of them as well, but, not this one, it's outstanding.
I'm sure you and your son will keep plugging away with this, I'll eagerly await your updates as and when you put them on Steam, good luck with your little project. !!*ok*!!

Cheerz. Steve.

Steve,

In the end, the release of the New Jersey Shore line, is a benefit to the Bergen Line. We were grappling with working on a custom build of the terminal and adding NY and NH to fill out the city. This release cuts, as least, 2 months of time. We can use that time to extend the route and get some more miles on the main line or refine what we have. Its interesting that you would note that Dovetail could have released this earlier or later during the construction of the Bergen. We knew they were working on something New Jersey Transit. We were very worried it would have been part our route or diminished what we were doing. In fact, the 2 routes will compliment each other. We could not have planned it any better. Today, we are at peace with what has occurred, and overall we are ahead. In September, we start the scenery in Jersey City. If we time it right, the new assets will be ready after topography is completed.

Ex-railwayman, you got it right, the Bergen is a labor of love. Any detail that will add credibility and believability when you look out the cab window, we put it in. There is so much we cant put it in as it doesn't exist as assets. We try to make up for that that with the elevations and the streets. Those streets really help add to the feel. Also limiting the amount of DLC has made us more creative. We have a large number of buildings that look custom, but really are not. You put all that together and it starts to look like something after a while. We appreciate hearing what people think of the route and really like it when they start to dig in to see what we did. You putting up the google map overlay on the route is a perfect example of digging into the details of what is going on. Gobsmacked? Mission Accomplished!

On to Hoboken!

Regards,

Adam
