That's an excellent resource! The CV Steamers were very unique looking, especially their 2-8-0s. I'd love to see someone create one someday.

I'm happy to announce the route has been sent to the File Library! I hope you all enjoy it, please post feedback and criticism (good and bad) here! I'll also be starting a thread on the screenshots page for shots of the route.

There are two free roam scenarios and a basic exploration standard scenario included. Please feel free to create and upload scenarios of your own design!

I've written a fun little history of the Western Vermont Railroad, which I created for this route. I'll post the file here and on my blog for anyone who might like a little light reading.

I would assume that the Extra Piping on the front is extra water?

I believe it's what was called a "coffin feedwater heater". I think what it did was preheat the water so it wouldn't take so long to build up steam. They weren't as common as the cylindrical elesco waterheaters typically mounted in front of the smokestack, the only other place I've seen these is on the B&M's Berkshire class. The two other CV 2-8-0 classes either had the cylindrical elesco heaters or none at all.

I'm glad you enjoyed that, I own quite a few books on New England shortlines so I wanted to write up my own history. It made the creative process a lot of fun!

Working on a repaint of the RSC GP9 for the updated version. I believe Diego did a repaint of the Britkits GP9 in this scheme as well.


Also, here is a neat video I have been using for inspiration for the updated version. It might give you an idea of what operations will look like. The "action" begins at about 13:14. It's worth noting that the CV was one of the last railroads to still require manned cabooses.
