Now you are off to Phelan through that vast space of desert.

There is the Los Angeles Aquaduct, and many flash flood prevention measures.
In surveying this area in Google Earth I noticed even the Aquaduct is protected from flash floods spoiling the fresh water with debris and silt from the desert.

Then the Cajon Pass proper is due.

Vulcan is definitely HUGE in the aggregate biz. 57 different locations just in VA!!! I think they actually provide a lot of the ballast locally as well.

I've been down with the flu the last two weeks but managed to get in some build time the past couple of days as I'm starting to get some strength back.

South of Mojave rolling past PPG Aerospace and Desert Block Co.

1st Shot: Final turn to the South before Rosamond.

2nd Shot: Water Treatment Plant at Oban

3rd Shot: What the treatment pools look like from above. Still playing with water values here and more pools to add on the East side of the tracks.

Thank you! Putting them in made for a nice change of pace.

Further work in this area...

Shot one: Pump house at the water treatment plant. Don't look too close but I think it looks vaguely like it should.

Shot 2: Started the ponds on the East side of the tracks.

Shot 3: Sierra Generating Station, Lancaster, CA. The general idea here is if you don't have any assets then just fake the heck out of it.

Do you have a partial list of assets for this so one may start "collecting" need assets?

From the first post, page one;

Required Assets:

Routes - Payware

DTG - Cajon Pass
DTG - Sherman Hill
DTG - Stevens Pass
DTG - Pacific Surfliner

Additional Assets - Freeware

RCAP from Railworks America
ScaleRail track system- 3DTrains
ScaleRoads - 3DTrains
Rural Landscapes - 3DTrains
World Landscapes - 3DTrains
3D Trees - 3DTrains

There are some additional assets that will be supplied with the route. There are a couple of downloads from the file section here, besides RCAP, that are needed as well but my memory fails me at the moment. I'll have a look and post again with the additional files needed from here.

One recommendation is for Alpenfreight's Simple Weather mod available in the file library, not necessary but things look much better in the desert with it.

Okay, I took a quick look and came up with only two others besides RCAP that are from the file library here, and those would be;

Chassis Pack v3 by Daniel Meyer (danpmeyer)
M1A2 Abrams flatcars by Jorge Alsina (jalsina)

That should pretty much be it, but if I come across anything else I'll post here.

Yes, thanks for the reminder. It completely slipped my mind even with evidence of its use in the last screenshot posted.

For those who aren't local residents and only explore the area in Google Earth and Streetview, I think it looks quite accurate and certainly adequate.

This is one route I look greatly forward to.

Thank you.

With so much hyperbole and self-honoring going on in the world I'll take 'certainly adequate' as a sensible assessment. From time to time I am reminded of Maximus's line from Gladiator - "The time for honoring yourself with soon be at an end." I wonder if Bob has ever carved a headstone with "He Was Certainly Adequate!'? I rather like that.
