The saturated orange on a freshly painted unit with light weathering, perhaps the black was even a little shiny when new.

Grande's SD's and GP's got very dirty and sooty because of the high altitude and long tunnels they had to traverse.
I'll look for some more pics. Being from the analogue film era, there is considerable colour variation.







So there seems to be two paint schemes worn during the service life of these units.
Notice the low and high mounted brake cylinders. Most roads rebuilt the trucks with high mounted brake cylinders as the low ones were easily damaged in derailments.
