I can adjust the pipes some, but the rims, I've seen a ton of these old trucks with those rims. My father's old semi had rims like this in fact.

For a more modern truck if I do any I'll give it a more modern rim design, these are late 60's and 70's for a early 70's model truck.

Here's what the actual style rim actually looked like. A lot of vintage trucks actually had rims like those.

Yeah I see what you were shooting for on the rims. I'm used to those on old 50's trucks, not 70's era. It's just yours look a little more like those spinner rims they put on Chrysler 300s in the hood. Just need to tweak them a bit.

The pipes I simply thought looked a little too tall. Looks like it would hit a low clearance bridge while going under it.

Otherwise those a great! We need more variety in assets! *!greengrin!*

It’s difficult to determine when Budd (yes, the railcar manufacturer) Wheels became the favored wheel on commercial (heavy) vehicles, but it is safe to say the latter part of the 20th century.

The earlier Dayton (two part) Wheels were difficult to work with and often caused injury to technicians changing tires. However, one can occassionally find them in use today… often on trailers.

Well the bad news is I won't be updating these any longer. Last night when I used the recycle bin to delete what was in it it also deleted my textures folder that was on the desk top. Means I'm going to have to create some new textures and I won't be updating any older buildings because it deleted all of the textures.

I'm going to go ahead and release these because I'm going to have some work ahead of me creating new textures.

It's a little late for advice, but still:
- don't keep data on the desktop. Keep only shortcuts to data folders;
- make frequent versioned backups of the data you're working on.

JP is modelling the wheels after the steel Dayton wheel. Those are not Alcoa aluminum rims. Like he said, he doesn't like modern.

The 1974 Freightliner long nose semi is in the game, or at least the representation of one. Any ways though, I think it looks great, was able to use the RSBin Tool to re-import my textures and finish this version of the truck and get it into the sim. Tomorrow another paint of one and then one without the sleeper on the back.

Progress on a new semi. I believe it's a 1973 Mack but I'm not sure.

Anyways, here's progress on the vintage Mack.

And here's the reference, but of course I'm building mine as a semi instead of the tow truck version.

Some more progress on the Mack, it's coming out nicely after some trial and error.

Also, it appears that this is a 1973 Mack cabover semi.

The 1973 Mack Cabover V1 is now finished and in the sim. Next I'll work on some different colors for the semi's I've done for the set and I'm also going to make another version of each semi for the option of one without illumination at night. So one can have a mixture in there scenes of trucks with illumination and trucks without illumination.

It has been tricky to build these models in 3D Crafter, the shaping of them has been a nightmare, this one especially. For the longest while I thought I was going to have to scrap the model because I couldn't get the corners on the cab to round correctly and for the paint to look correct.

Here's a couple more versions of the Macks in the sim.
Railworks Semi's B.jpg

And here's all the trucks that are in the sim so far.

I can't wait to see what some of these trucks will look like on some of our upcoming freeware routes.

And not to mention, I've been building these trucks completely by eye without any blueprints just by looking at reference photo's of the actual truck.
