For the Forney I have one not too far from my house its 31" gauge though.

I have another idea. I'd still propose it to RSC for publication via Steam, but I'd be glad to donate 20% of the net profit to your railroad. I'd suggest it to RSC too, but it would be up to them whether they want to make a similar donation. Personally, I think it would be good for their image. Just Trains have done something similar with their Bristol and Avonmouth route, using money from its sales to make a donation to the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) in the UK. Steam reaches a huge audience and I think that the 20% from selling it on their platform is likely to be far more than 100% of what we'd get from a donationware sold via any other site.

It would also be great if you could help me out once the model gets underway, by taking photos of various bits and pieces, and from different angles, so that I can make the model and its textures as authentic as possible. Maybe you could even record some sounds!

There is one small problem, which is that it would need a route to run on. That's one of the first things RSC asks ... "do we have a route to run it on? How can we package this?" ... Also, do we have suitable (RSC payware) rolling stock to go behind the loco? What I'm afraid of is ending up with a loco and nothing else, which wouldn't make for a very marketable product. Maybe some more people need to get involved to build up a complete package.

We should get in touch again as soon as I´ve finished the Consolidation, nearer to Christmas.

Cheers,

Mike

P.S. Do you have the complete blueprints? I mean, including the full erecting diagrams, as well as individual parts?

I'm going into work to-morrow so Ill take a pic of what we have, I'll have to ask our president if he is okay with it as well (I'm sure he wont mind) I believe these engines were used in industrial settings in the early 1900's up until the 1940's-50's. ours personally was used first in San Fransisco to haul concrete and rubble after the earthquake (hence why it's trolley guage) then it was used in a quarry and then a scrap yard. We have many talented routemakers out there that might be interested in helping, I might even be able to help with the route :D

Don't know if you would be willing to make some rolling stock for it as well (maybe some ore cars, small flatcars, hoppers, ect...)

I could certainly make some rolling stock, as long as I have the measurements. I could even manage with some side and end elevation photos with someone holding a metre ruler next to it! The measurements wouldn't necessarily be to the nearest 1/64th of an inch, like in the Consolidation, but near enough.

I could also make a track rule for trolley gauge, so that at least I could make a simple route for doing test runs.

I don't know if they were all trolley guage or not (which is 48" by the way) but I can ask about it to-morrow.

I still think a ten wheeler would fill a big gap in what's out there in steam right now. !*YAAA*!

Yes, but it's all about access to the drawings (and, if possible, the actual locomotive). You see, I live in Spain, so it's not at all easy for me to go and look at them myself. I have to go by what I can find in books and on the internet, unless I have someone over there who can help.

I can get access to a preserved 10-wheeler in Winnsboro, SC, and can provide pictures from every angle.

Sounds good :D But can you also get the drawings? It's not just the overall dimensions I need, but exact dimensions for things like coupling rods. I would really need the erecting diagrams. They show exactly how all the main parts fit together. Other, standard parts (such as lights) can be placed by eye.

Something like this if we can find the drawings and such.

On the Consolidation, I'm going to see if the numbers on the tender sides can be left blank, to leave room for lettering.
