Well running a cleared out Free Roam seems to make things better for me. I haven't tried anything else yet as far as adding more units or more rolling stock as I just haven't had time lately. But here's a few shots of what I've been able to run so far!

NStrains - those are great Hi-Resolution Shots! I am a bit concerned about you not being able to operate in the QD environment. You know to delete to contents of the route file, as is customary. And yet, you still have a crash problem. It was just 2 weeks ago we were all fine. I can speak for my build machine i3, 8gb ram, 2gb video - In CH facing East in QD FPS is 18, South is 21, North is 26 and West is 28. This completely reflects the scenery density in each direction. I uses this as a point of reference. My laptop i7 4GB ram 1 gb video same location is 14 East, 18 South, 19 North and 23 West. Croxton is 15/16 on the Laptop and there is NO rolling stock in Croxton at the moment and I have driven crash free to Garfield. 2 weeks ago my laptop was crashing at Croxton and my primary machine crashed in edit mode for the QD. Normal edit was fine. The previous QD was completely deleted and a new one created and successfully uploaded.

*Re: Carlton Hill - I wont forget ... its unfinished and I have 3 uncounted consignees there - that I cannot pass up! I might do some work there from time to time. Right now I'm energized for CH to Walden.

*Also: where, after how long and under what QD, plus your fps readings are key here, when was your last machine reboot? I know its the route and the density that's the likely cause. But what if it was something else - like lofts or a corrupt scenery table. I could isolate it. I feel bad to put you all through this and trust me it happens to me too. Its a fine line I walk.

*One more thing - images of yours from CH are conspicuously absent. Have you been able to from CH to the Moodna yet. (yes, I worry)

Thanks as always NS!

Not to fret MM! I've just been to busy to catch up on the new stuff lately. I have yet to try CH since the latest update. I will take notes the next time I get a chance to start at CH and make a full run South/East on the route! But that might not be for awhile as I'm supposed to leave Saturday for North Carolina, but who knows how that's going to go with Irma looking like it's gonna march right up the eastern seaboard.

I'm still exploring the route and I am loving the detail you have put into all the areas of the route. The Moodna is breathtaking! Great work Minerman. **!!bow!!**

I went back to Croxton Yard to see what has been upgraded over the last few months, it's a bit different from last year...... !!*ok*!!

These are a few of a local freight up to Passaic Yard.

Cheerz. Steve.

I am feelin the luv - keep em coming!
Its the best when you guys are exploring and finding all the additions and details both large and small that are all over this route.

ET44C4 - I cant imagine what it must to see the route for the first time with the 37 months worth of work put into it. This route is all I know and I never lost interest in it. Seeing your pictures - makes me happy. The siding to Gold Bond and the shack in Southfields - its there to blend in the rest of the scenery and for the curious to explore!

Ex-Railway man - Your keen eye discerns what I must confess. I most certainly do take breaks from going West to make changes or "detail up" an area. That forklift on Monroe street is from 3 updates ago - there is an animated 'dude' inside too.

I have said this before - your feedback keeps me going! Thank you All!
!*cheers*!

I'm delighted to hear that my screenshots made you happy. It's spectacular to see so much detail put into the route. I love the history involved too. You have highlighted the history in the route very well! I am very interested to see and hear about railroad history, and I love to explore the stomping grounds of the Erie!

Honestly the only reason I like this run is battling the 1.5%??? grade through Tuxedo. Much more fun trying to guess the right amount of power and hearing it scream! I'm getting ready to start my run back up with the Moodna just a few miles out from the start!

I get totally stoked with this kind of response. History - YES!, Erie - YES! Interested - YES!

This kind of interest always gets me talking. Someday we will find a way to have running conversations on this here thread. I love to talk about the Bergen. One of the goals of the Bergen is to communicate the underlying history. Its told visually. Part of the fun is not to slam you over the head and tell you about it, but have an environment where your can discover it on your own. And, trust me its there. Suffice. to say we didn't put Easter Eggs in the route - but the whole thing is an Easter Egg.

So, how do we do it? To keep it short - lets use Hoboken for an example. Its loaded with history - just overflowing with it. I could just tell you and you could go look. But what fun is that? Lets compare the NJCL Hoboken and the one on the Bergen. Same place, two distinctly different approaches. One looks like the place - the other conveys the place. This is a distinct difference! Next, consider who builds the place and most importantly why. Now, with me, and this is what one needs to consider when looking at the route - why are things there? Every single thing you see on the Bergen is placed on purpose and things that are omitted are also on purpose. Before moving on, think about this simple example: on the Bergen I actually COUNT how many floors the real building has BEFORE placing the asset. So in Hoboken, my buildings for blocks around the Terminal MATCH floor by floor to the real buildings. This is not all I do but this is just one of the distinctions.

The queues are all subtle and some so subtle it very easy to miss. Let me present a task for you - you are under NO obligation to do it - its a demonstration of the thought that goes into this route and how I share history.

Go to google and search "Bergen Cut" do a little reading and spend 10 minutes or so looking up images. Next, find it on the route. Go in editor fly down there and look. So now your looking - neat right? But why? Next, follow the track - to the end and look at the direction the track is pointed. Next in editor add siding track flowing the same gradient stop and the go level where it seems correct to do so. Then run the track to the Hudson. Now, go back to the internet and find aerial images from 30, 40, 50 - 60 years ago. Now look. Go back to the track you laid and look again.

That is what I do.

That is truly amazing. There are many more things that make this route stand out. Dedication! Dedication! Dedication! I salute you sir, for that. !*salute*!

If you would like to have a look, I posted some pictures in the "Real World Train Pictures" thread in the "Jungle" when I went out and explored the old Virginian Railway line through Suffolk, VA and also an old Norfolk and Western stone water tower in Chesapeake, VA. I love looking at things like that, and I think your route offers that excitement of seeing rich railroad history in modern times.
