The good news... the scenery front has arrived at Cantara Loop.
The bad news... It's Cantara Loop, and since it will be one of the focal points of the route, and is one of the most prolific locations on the SP, I am being reeeeally picky and detailed about how it looks ...which is taking me a while. I'm not kidding when I say that I spent three hours last week positioning the assets that make up the bridge itself. I hate posting pictures of locations that aren't complete, but here it is as it sits right now.

LOTS of work left to do, but its coming along slowly. When compared to the raw DEM from back in the spring it looks like progress at least.

I spent most of last week working on the 'east' side of Snowden, and down into Willow Creek 'canyon'. I'm still tweaking the terrain textures to get the exact right 'look' of the line in all four seasons. Pics of this soon.
I spent time last weekend tackling one of the areas of the route that I had been avoiding; the Roseburg Forest Products/ex IPI mill in Weed, CA. Making a large structure out of a series of smaller structures that don't really look the part is an art that I am far from mastering. Tomcat and Minerman are aces at it, and I'm learning a lot from seeing their work. Below is the majority of the mill site.

Ebarruse, any guess as far as time to completion on my part would be an act of futility. However, RWInfo gives a good indication below based on tiles with scenery assets placed. This was progress as things stood on August 12.
Progress as of Aug 12, 2017.jpg
Medford-Steinman is mostly untouched, and from Hornbrook to Siskiyou is bare for the most part. The same goes for the entire Yreka Western. Once I work past the Sacramento Canyon (2 more miles!) progress should speed up considerably. The amount of time spent fiddling with terrain, and fixing floating, or buried track here is incredible

The wait will be worth it though, I assure you that.
