You should try a vintage US Electric locomotive next. Would love to see a possible freeware GG1 if you could make one later on. I wonder what RSC would say if you later was to make freeware anything.

Now since there is a payware one on steam I don't think it would be wise to ever make a payware GG1, but as for freeware Electric there is nothing on the US side, which really stinks sometimes.

After I do a diesel locomotive I might try a Electric locomotive myself.

By the way, do you know of any tutorials for building passenger express train cars and getting them into the game.

Perhaps later you should do the British Garrett steam locomotive as payware for a decent payware item.

The Consolidation will indeed be sold via Steam. I've even come up with a logo, but I'm waiting for feedback from RSC (I'd like to hear their opinion first).

There's no problem with me doing freeware of any kind, although I think it would be a bit indecent of me to do one that competes with their payware now that I've begun a professional relationship with them. Besides, their GG1 looks very good and I'd be hard pressed to compete with it, even if wanted to (which I don't). Of course, I've now got a vested interest in allocating my spare time (which isn't all that much) to finishing the Consolidation first, if you get my drift.

The only tutorial for rolling stock that I've ever seen is the one in the dev docs. It's a bit hard to follow and I had to learn the hard way, by a lot of trial and error. When I have time though, I will write all of this up. But I'd like to finish the loco first. I feel like I'm on the last 1000m stretch of a marathon and have to keep going and concentrate on reaching the finishing line. If I get too distracted now, I might run out of breath and that would be awful.

It's not that I can't per se, it's just that they would prefer to have the marketing under their control (don't ask me, I'm not a marketing expert). Does GTrax advertise with WIP screenshots on their own website?

Yes, Gtrax has advertised their products on their site, while in the later stages of development (probably in the last stage of development). The community would repost them here. Look for posts on Portland Terminal and the Amtrak set.

Given the work and complexity, I think the paid route is a valid one for you - I for one will be happy to buy (it was either that or donate to you somehow *!lol!* )

Is there only going to be one variant? What is the chance of different operating liveries. Not sure what RR's ran this model loco, but probably more than the AT&N.

Just hope RSC dont stuff it in the back of the cupboard to gather dust - she needs to be out on the lines...

!*cheers*!

OK, that's because they sell them on their own website too. I'll ask RSC again if they'd have any real objections to me posting screenshots here.

I just had a look at their website. One day someone will have to explain to me the difference between "Minimum Donation" and "Price".

Thanks!

The usual thing is to provide it in a livery for an existing route, or include the loco as part of the package of a new route. So it's unlikely to be the AT&N. That part is up to RSC, to say how best to "package" it. As I like doing liveries, I'll probably make several. In fact, one of the jobs I've got pending is to retouch some of the textures, and where they're applied, to make it easier to do things like white-walling and painting the borders of the running boards and rails, to add variety.

I'm pretty certain it won't gather dust. She'll definitely be out before too long. First I have to finish her! Now I'll get back to putting the rivets on the doors on the tender between the footplate and the coal bunker ...

Cheers,
Mike

Minimum donation means that is the least you can donate, but you can feel free to donate more since it for the Steam Heritage thing G-Trax supports.

The donations would probably help pay for this:

I always wish there was a place like that near where I live to visit, but whatever is near by is so far away that it's too far to drive in a day.

Oh, if you would consider it, Would you consider doing The UP Auxiliary water tenders? With the Challenger and Sherman Hill, it doesn't look right without Jim Adams and Joe Jordan behind.(the modern ones, not the 1990s ones) Like I've said before, I would do it myself, but I currently lack in experience and resources !!**sorry**!!
If that consolidation is still unfinished, and getting better, (seriously, it's gonna have more operating functions than any other steamer in the game) then anything else you would create would be a masterful work of art!

It looks amazing BTW, and I will be getting it by whatever means necessary upon it's release! !*salute*!
