Do you have the Clear Creek route installed? I used to get this in a few places until I got that route, as well.

Yeah, your're missing a ground texture from Clear Creek.
I've seen that for some (freeware) routes all textures have been gathered at Assets\PROVIDER\PRODUCT\Environment\Terrain but I have no idea if this is allowed !*don-know!*
That would fix the problem, that if you don't have the route you at least have no missing textures.

Right now you won't notice a missing Clear Creek route that much because all assets are only placed between Laramie and Sherman but you will notice it much more on the stage two release. I hope that I later can replace some of the assets like houses, river lofts, grass and bushes with assets from the Promontory route or custom assets but I have no idea what about the cliff toppers and embankments.

And now a question to the route and asset developers:

I'm currently working an on some audio ambience but right now I have the problem that I have to leave the fields Geometry ID, Inner Geometry ID and Outer Geometry ID blank in the blueprint editor (these geometries are the large speaker and the red circle like in the screenshot below) because I can't export the files if the source .igs files are missing. So I later have to edit the xml files add the path to the GeoPcDx files in the Smokebox folder.

Is there a developerkit available that contains these default object sources?

And last but not least some new WIP screenshots :D

What a view from the top of the bluffs. On the left side Lake Como.

Como station and freight depot. As long as I haven't updated the distant terrain you'll notice that the textures will fade to green in the distance.

One peculiarity of this lake is that it is near Rock Creek separated from it by a ridge of hills estimated at 200 feet high, with no visible outlet.
The lake has been estimated to be 200 feet above the surface of Rock Creek, from which it is separated as above stated. It is fed by warm springs, which also supply the water tank.

The name Como is derived from one of the early Union Pacific railroad surveyors who thought the lake situated on top of the bluff looked like a lake in his home country of Italy. The name of the lake was changed in later years to Aurora Lake because it was confused with a second Como Lake, named after the same surveyor, west of Medicine Bow.

Not that I'm aware of, unfortunately.

I don't think so, as I am noticing some consistency with payware routes at my end. As in I only tend to run them once or twice, and then virtually forget they're there. With freeware routes, it doesn't matter as much, but I'm essentially just donating for a trial of the route.

For some reason, I have still not accustomed to the TS20XX interface, and hence don't run trains that often.

We are on our last leg. Only 9 miles left for this stage

On our left we meet the Rock Creek again

This grade looks steep, but it's only 1%

Crossing the Medicine Bow River

The track work at Medicine Bow is already finished, so I'll now work on some scenarios and doing the rest of the scenery later

Thanks.

Mike, have you thought about creating some additional freight cars like coal hoppers or cattle cars for your locos?

Well that's a coincidence! I was thinking the very same thing while I was out shopping today.

I've started making a pack of additional 1800s rolling stock. Here's what I've got so far:

Great work Mike !!*ok*!!

In the meantime I wasn't unproductive and after some custum sounds I tried something new: A custom skydome

Unfortunatly there is almost no information on the net but I found an old blender template from 2013 on a dutch website which is free to use.

At least I was already able to export the skydome and add some custom textures for the sun (which looks good) and a 25 phase moon which seems to have some problems with the opacity at day but looks good at night even if the stars don't seem to work right now. Maybe I should mention that I'm not very experienced in this graphical stuff but here is how it looks now...

@Mike: Will there be some additional signals in the Promontory Route available or do you have an idea how let an eastbound and a westbound train meet in a scenario?
There is a tutorial available from BoostedFridge (viewtopic.php?f=8&t=17999) but this works only if you have signal blocks.

Would love to see those train cars released to the RWA file library, they would be awesome as freeware.

That may be so, but I have to do this for a living, so they'll be in a Marketplace pack.

I'd love to see 1860's era stock on the marketplace, it would definitely be worth the price. I don't know if you plan on adding a stock car or not, but one would be very nice to have as well, given the number of cattle docks on the line.

Thanks, and yes, a stock car is on the list :)
