Thanks John :D

I'll post a video when the firebox doors are animated. I found a video on YouTube that shows the fireman operating the doors by stepping on the pedal in the floor that activates the steam piston, so I'll try to use the sounds from that. I'll also see if it's possible to make the doors open and close automatically at the same rate as the shovelling. That'd be a nice way to see how quickly the coal is being shovelled, instead of relying on the HUDs.

I second that - it looks remarkable. I certainly hope there is a way we can at least donate something to you for this, because I know, at least for me, it wouldnt feel right you just giving it away...

!*cheers*!

Well, if he wanted he could set a area at his website where one might go to leave a small donation.

I've actually no idea how to do that. In any case, I always said this would be freeware. I'll just be happy to see the screenshots and repaints. I wouldn't feel right accepting money for it.

Latest tweak ... I added the transform names so that now you can open the window and door using the mouse, which is more fun than a keyboard shortcut. Thanks to SMMDigital's tutorial for showing how.

I've done the autonumbering on the headlight and tender, with genuine railroad roman font.

Also added a detailed pressure relief valve on the dome.

Plus, it now shows up in the Quick Drive menu with its own picture :D

It certainly is, and the cord moves too. I'm also very pleased with the sound the bell makes.

Engine is looking great, better then anything I could do at the moment, much better.

When you finish it I'll be planning on re-opening my J3A Hudson project, I've only put it on hold for a while until this is finished.

Thanks Jonathan :D

I'm glad you haven't given up on the Hudson. Once the Consolidation is done, I'll have more time to help you out and perhaps even do some video tutorials.

Cheers,

As of now I've decided to do some more work on my buildings so perhaps once the engine beta is done I might have more of a route to run it on and do a small black and white video with the Glen Miller song In The Mood playing in the background to simulate a video from the 1930's.

Also, some might not know but in the early 30's some places in the US still didn't have tar streets and didn't have traffic lights yet, back then it was a completely different world, it was either get out of the way or be run over.

Also somewhere I'm going to put a small sign that will read Glen Miller In Concert 1935

Also, for when I start redoing the route I want to make a lofted street and somehow get my 1930's cars driving on it special for the route.

All sounds good :D

By the way, I used to play saxophone in a Big Band ... we did a lot of Glenn Miller numbers.

P.S. Make sure you put "Glenn" in the posters, not "Glen" *!!wink!!*

I only wish I could learn how to play Glenn Miller on the pipe organ, but I do play a lot of J.S Bach though, my favorite song to play is the theme from the Phantom Of The Opera.

Anyways, any news on the next preview video of the Consolidation.

I'm waiting to do the animation of the firebox doors, but right now I'm doing the night lighting, so that I can add a bit of night shots to the next video.

I'm doing the lights now. I've got a question about the Classification Lights (those small lights at the top of the smokebox). Were they switched on separately from the headlight, or were they in the same circuit? I think they were separate, so that they'd stay on even when the loco was going tender first (with the headlight on the back of the tender switched on), but I want to make sure.

Thanks,

Mike

Yes, from what I know they were separate.
