OK started flushing out the scenery tonight. Too much, not enough what do ya think? And yes I know I haven't made up my textures for the track bed so that's missing.

Also, does anyone know what signals there using on this route? I only have a hundred of so to choose from now that RCAP v2 came out!!!!

When I was in Portola I saw the old single aspect target. O am sure UP will switch them out for the inline three aspect as the break.

Be careful with which trees you choose. Remember this is the high Sierras. One of my biggest gripes with Donner (which they did change with the update) was that they used the wrong trees. Autumns are generally not colorful, and spring is mostly snowmelt. You will see mostly evergreens, though I have hiked through areas of just Aspens and Live Oak. If you come across a seemly bald gray area (not sure you will though), that would be a patch of granite where the topsoil has eroded away.

Yeah I've been wondering about the trees, there are allot of them but it's really hard to figure what is what from a top view !**duh*!! Seems like down by Oroville there is a mix of trees by the but as one moves on up in altitude things kind of dwindle down a select few, Aspens and Ponderosa pines mainly with a few other non evergreens thrown in here and there from the pics I have seen so far.

Are you creating this as a purely freeware route, or are you including payware assets from RSC?

Well I'm using Marias & Donner Pass so far from RSC so there is some payware needed............ Unless I make all the stuff I'm using from RSC !*lho*!

I was just wondering, that is all. Donner is a logical fit since its the same locale, and has the flora you need. In fact you could use its Time Of Day settings, skydome, and weather as well.

Thats a good point, I was using the default ones, but I'll take your advise and slip the Donner ones in there instead and see what it does. (I hadn't gotten to that point just a yet)

Donner wouldn't be bad either because it is now the stock route that comes with 2014. I assume the majority of TS2014 users have it by now.

OK I have my basic textures figured out and I think I'm ready to start moving along the line now.

These two shots are south of Oroville, right around mile post 200/201
