Be sure to thank PapaXpress! He added a (albeit crude for now) passenger view to the observation car. I'm sure we'll have a better interior view one of these days. *!!wink!!*

I don't suppose you could tone back the purple? I don't think they had that shade. More of a medium to navy blue as in my avatar icon to the right >
Also can we add the usual Nickel Plate Road navy colored logo as an option for drumhead images on the rear of that #2 sleeper?

I would suggest that changing the logo on the drumhead would be a good beginning for you in repainting. Get the free Photoshop CS2 (google it) and the RSBin tool here on RWA, then change it to suit yourself.

I'd feel better if we pulled these back out of the file library for now. We don't have a six axle PA to pull them anyway. I don't really need these until then. Maybe get a nice rib side set to go with it.

I'd feel better if we did not.

There seems to be some debate as to the correct shade of blue used on these cars. I admit it is not as dark as I thought. Much closer to what is shown on the rib side as shown in the pic up above. I do hope we can get a rib side set as well. Thank you.

Hold up... who put you in charge? And who said you were the only one that wanted these?

How about this idea? MadMike and I stop fielding requests and work on things we like. That is how we worked before the C&O and NPK and its no skin off my back if we return to this process.

Mid morning there were already fourteen d/l so someone else must have been following this. Maybe the colors are off on your monitor.

Buzz, I know what NPK is talking about. I caught it during the QA phase and there were some adjustments made prior to release. Its up to MadMike if he wants to alter the colors any.

Hey Buzz and PapaX. What is the protocol for repainting a repaint? Is it OK for me to learn repainting by repainting a repaint? For my own enjoyment, I mean.

I am itching to try. I have been studying the tutorials that I have found. I think I have the tools needed. And looks like MadMike has done all the hard work. So tweaking the shade of "Blue" in the "Bluebird" coaches might be just the start I need. And from what I am learning, it shouldn't be too difficult. Do I need permission from the repaint author before I start changing things?

You don't need permission from anyone in this case. It's just polite to acknowledge where you got the stuff from.. This is freeware unlike payware where there are all kinds of hoops to jump through.

Olpaint, if your doing it for your own personal use then you can do whatever you want. If however you intend to upload it here, the courteous thing would be to ask permission of the original painter. He may not have copyright to the model but he does to the repaint textures.

PapaX

I appreciate the work and efforts you contribute to the Community. Even if no one else does. I've been looking over your Blog site (http://thegradecrossing.blogspot.com/) and am learning all kinds of neat tricks. Thank you, again.

As do I. Let's all play nicely please. I'm a 60 year old air force veteran. Grandpa worked for Nickel Plate for over 30 years. Was a claims agent out of Fort Wayne, then Chicago. Thus my keen interest.

Have been playing with train sims ever since MSTS first came out. Was on trainsim forums nearly 10 years ago. I have other interests and only pop into these forums now for a couple of months out of the year. And when I do I need good folks like you to bring me up to snuff. I appreciate your help. I'll quite often forget how to some of the more mundane tasks. And doesn't help when I feel I am walking on thin ice all the time. You guys in red are supposed to help us, guide us. Be polite. Not bully us or stick your chests out like your gods gift to the rail sim community. I'm sorry fellas - you are not.

And once somethings been posted in the library and is approved or tested by one of you does not mean that's the final product. It is not written in stone. You must allow a little field testing as well. Give it a few weeks. Let other eyes look at it and be open to further suggestions. Tweak it here or there whether you necessarily agree with it or not. And most of all, have patience. We need to have more patience.

Now I really don't care if you want to kick me out of these forums or not. But we all must learn not to have such thin skins and to accept some constructive criticism from time to time. That's how we learn. And that's how we grow. To benefit the entire rail sim community.

'nuff said. Thank you gentlemen.
